Taking Apart A Pelikan Go!

The piston on my beloved Pelikan GO! (m75) is stiff. I'd like to take it apart and grease the piston seal. I don't want to break it. can I just unscrew the piston like on other inexpensive pens? Has anyone eve disassembled a GO!?

Haven't tried dismantling one, but before you do try adding some glycerine (a few drops) to some warm water and filling the pen a few times. Shake it around each time you have filled the pen and then flush and fill again.

This should lubricate the piston and make it move more freely.

It worked for me on my MK30.

I dismantled my Pelikan Go M75 just this past weekend. Poor pen was leaking from the piston button. I got it cheaply so I wasn't afraid to experiment. :rolleyes:

 

So what you can do is a bit like what you would do to dismantle a Noodler's Nib Creaper Flex Fountain Pen. This one here (watch the vids on the page if you want):

Before we go on take a look at the piston filler graph on this page so that I can tell you which part I am referring to.

When you have twisted the piston all the way to unload the ink, keep on twisting some more. The piston knob would push itself off from the barrel. That is the red part on Richard Binder's illustration.

 

You will need a small tweezers to pull the pump bit (the bit that touches the ink and has a screwing end) out of the barrel though. It's the green part on Richard Binder's illustration.

 

After you have done the greasing up screw the green part inside the red part. Then paying attention to the little notches sticking out at the end of the barrel (two half circles opposite one another) so that they face the "caves" on the piston section, push the united piston part into the barrel. Then your job is done! :thumbup:

Holy moley, I can't believe it's as easy as that. i figured, hey it's a Pelikan, it can't just unscrew like my nib creapers. well then.
