It weighs 8 lbs. I hope the 2013 book is even bigger. :) The official numbered items for the last experiment were totalled at 174. The book contains the other experiments from 2012, so it's probably 200+sheets. So far the 2013 book has 180 samples. What make the book so amazing is the input from GeoDuc, Lagnut and Lapis. They input information about papers and colors. I think it was Geoduc who typed in all the inks, and then gave them a fade grade. Be sure to look at the spreadsheet.

The results for 2012 are posted in this thread and are here. The 2013 results won't be up for a while. I put them on on 10/1, 6 months will be 4/1.

I don't even know what one is. What is it? Should I use it?

Ah, it is a small card with wool strips dyed with specific dyes with known rates of fading in response to light (the UV component in the light really). You have one control card with your controls, one with the samples being tested. The blue wool strips fade at known rates (relatively) so you can see if an ink changes at Blue Wool 3 you know it's less than lightfast.

 

Google Blue Wool Scale. You can get them at Talas (http://apps.webcreate.com/ecom/catalog/product_specific.cfm?ClientID=15&ProductID=23850) but they are expensive. May be cheaper from UK/EU, but maybe not.
