As you can see, this image as 5 pieces. So, what I could do is send you - 2 pieces - and we could do this:

  1. San Antinio Shade
  2. San Antonio Sun
  3. Las Vegas Light
  4. Sin City Shadows
  5. Kept in the dark

What do you think?

Sure thing! By San Antonio shade, you mean outside, right? I can do that - I have a deck right under a huge red oak tree, and can tack the sample there. The San Antonio Sun one will go with my other Deathmatch samples. I presume you will keep the ones in the dark?

Sure thing! By San Antonio shade, you mean outside, right? I can do that - I have a deck right under a huge red oak tree, and can tack the sample there. The San Antonio Sun one will go with my other Deathmatch samples. I presume you will keep the ones in the dark?

 

YEP!

 

I'll put one part in on the "sunny side of the caboose" and the other on the shady side of the caboose (aka Sin City Shadows). The last one, I'll keep in my desk drawer.

 

If I can't get you all the samples in time, we may have to start on Saturday, but hopefully, I can get it organized. You won't have to scan any of the images. Though maybe if you have a chance to take pictures once the samples are up.....

 

Anyway, this additional location will add all sorts of information and it will be really fun.

For interest, here are the inks that will participate in Deathmatch 2012. They are the "permanent" or near permanent inks I have here at home. (I also threw in Montblanc Racing Green just to see what would happen.) I don't include any non-waterproof/water resistant inks (except RG), as this will be out in the weather all summer, and I didn't want to waste space (though, to be fair, it doesn't rain much here). If anyone wants to send me other waterproof ink writing samples not listed, feel free (but if so, please keep the samples small, as I will have limited space on the wooden platform I plan to use).

I have samples written on Staples Bagasse paper and Hp 32lb premium choice laser paper. If I have room I'll put both out; if not, I'll do an integrity test by soaking bits of the respective papers in water, and I'll put out the one that holds up best.

Amber, thank you for doing this. This is going to be a very interesting experiment. This is also a massive amount of work on your end, much beyond the papering of your caboose. What a great idea. I will attempt to help as I can, but the majority of this will fall on you, regardless of the help you receive from the rest of us collectively.
