There was a white Safari with a red clip. Here's one. And here's another one. Waaaaaay expensive.

And one of those sellers has just listed a new Terracotta Safari. Well, its listed as new and unopened and then goes on to say its rarely used :hmm1: As for the price.....USD$999.99 !!!!! :yikes:

Yeah, it's a no brainer. I'd rather have $1000 than that pen. I love Lamy Safaris, but that doesn't mean I hate my money (what little of it I have).

It's a very cool specimen, but my budget for Safaris is one order of magnitude less. I've only seen pics of a boxed Savannah, never the Terracotta. I'd like to own one with the original converters, but certainly not at the asking price.

By the way, that eBay seller is either checking FPN or Flickr, because they aped a picture of mine (and added their watermark! what nerve!) for an eBay sale (red clip Safaris from Sweden NK). Naughty naughty and shame on you!

All the more reason to avoid that seller then, if he doesn't respect the intellectual property rights of others. Have you sent him an email already about the matter?

Also, I just noticed. That seller does not accept returns! Sounds shady to me.

Niiiice! I'm glad I finally got my pink Safari!

Me, too! Loaded it with Diamine Hope Pink and now it's really rockin' loudly. :cloud9:

I am almost done with my searches. I have decided to limit my collection to the chrome clips for now.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151400836584291&set=a.10151400836434291.495982.612364290&type=1&relevant_count=2

This collection took a while to build, considering that I have been out of the fountain pen collecting loop for about three years, and missed out on some releases. But slowly I am finding the ones I have missed.

Left panel, top to bottom: Lamy Vista, Lamy Safari Glossy White, Safari Glossy Black, Safari Blue, Safari Aquamarine (Limited Edition for 2011), Safari Green (Limited Edition for 2012), Lamy Safari Yellow, Lamy Safari Red, Safari Pink (Limited Edition for 2009).

For the Safari line with the chrome clip, I am still missing the Orange (Limited Edition for 2009 also) and the Lime, (Limited Edition for 2008.) They are available on eBay but are now priced way above my price range.

Right panel, top to bottom: Lamy Al-Star Purple, Lamy Al-Star, Al-Star Raspberry (Limited Edition for 2008), Al-Star Ruby Red (Limited Edition for 2012).

For the Al-Star line, I am still missing the Ocean Blue and the Coffee (both are on their way). I am also missing the Icy Blue, the Icy Green, and the super-rare Lilac, which some people suspect is an urban legend, but I hope it's true, because it's a beautiful color.

And these are just the Lamy pens with the chrome clips. My significant other has two Lamys with black clips and black nibs, which are more his style. (The Lamy Safari Charcoal and the Lamy Al-Star Aluminum.) He put his foot down at two. LOL!

My son's collection consists entirely of Parker pens, but I think it's time to move him to the Lamy. The Safari Blue actually belongs to him, and it's time to give it back! He's been using fountain pens since he was about seven. His handwriting improved a lot after he began using FPs.

The last small pen at the bottom of the right panel is the Pelikan White Tortoise M400. In the center of the pen case is the Brause # 361, also known as the Blue Pumpkin.

These are pens I use everyday.

Couldn't edit my post anymore to edit the link, so here is a repost, with the right link.

Yes, I sent a message through eBay. Obviously to no avail. If it happens again, I'll report directly to eBay.

I just discovered that you have to go though each Flickr setting manually or anyone DOES have the right to use your photos without acknowledgment or compensation (from my limited understanding).

Flickr users beware.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

My Flickr stream and images are shared with a Creative Commons attribution, non-commercial, share alike copyright. But if you're a no-good picture thief, I doubt that means much.

Lamy Al-Star pearl came in the mail a few days ago. I agree that the color is champagne, not pearl. I asked the bride what color it is and she said "champagne, duh." Oh well. Although the light is bright in these pics, the color seems a fair representation to my eyes on this computer/browser.

I got my Pearl from The Writing Desk about a week ako, and it does look champagne. (I loaded it with De Atramentis Khaki. A reasonably good match.)

I wish they called it Champagne instead, so they can still use Pearl for when -- or if -- they come up with an iridescent white Al-Star.

Yep. Champagne.

I have a gold Platinum Plaisir and a gold x-pen 450. The Plaisir is slightly warmer in tone, but fairly similar, while the x-pen is much deeper and clearly gold.

The Champagne, I mean Pearl, would make a nice line-up with the other metallics like Graphite.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

So I completed my Al-Star set, in terms of all the colours at least, if not all the combos.

Was updating my pen spreadsheet tonight and I'm stumped as to which years to put against the Ice Green and Ice Blue.

From reading this thread it seems that they're pre-2008 but does anybody know exactly which year they were released?

Silver clip version of the Ice Green ;)
