Lamy Safari Colours

I was in Berlin early last summer and saw a special edition Silver/Grey Al-Star with the signature of a certain football player.

That's Bastian Schweinsteiger. I'm not interested in football (soccer?), but I remember the name. :)

OK...

Black, Blue, Red, Yellow, Orange, White, Vista, Al-star...

...What else?

Thanks,

Chris

Before reading the thread, this is what I knew of:

Black (Textured Charcoal)

Blue

Red

Yellow

White

Vista (clear)

Orange (Flame w/red clip)

All-Star Blue (aluminum)

All-Star Silver (aluminum)

All-Star Green (aluminum)

Light Blue w/Red clip (aka Smurf blue)

Putty, kind of a fleshy, Silly-Putty, generic PC case color

Gray

I've got all but the last two colors, which I thought were butt-ugly.

No greens yet though.

----------------------

After reading the thread, I've got more comments:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ja/3/37/Lamysafari.jpg

1. So there IS a green one. Is it textured, like the Charcoal?

2. I've never seen the TerraCotta, but it exists

http://bungbungbung.ti-da.net/usr/bungbungbung/IMGP0888.JPG

3. Someone mentions two other AL All-Stars: Graphite and another blue rather than the light blue. Are those real?

4. I don't see anyone mention the "putty" color. I saw it in a store. Could it have been an off-color gray? It definitely didn't look gray to me though.

Skip, yes, Savanna Green and Terracotta ones (the two original color from 1980) are textured.

Not sure about putty color. Could it have been either white or Gray?

There's a possibility that the Putty color that I saw was an off-color Gray, but I'm very certain that it wasn't neutral gray in color and definitely wasn't white. Why am I sure? I distinctly remember talking about the color with the salesguy and remarking that the pen looked a very ugly, putty color. He said that they had only sold one of that color and that he expected it to be remaindered by the corporate office soon. This was about 3-4 years ago.

Actually you are seeing Japanese language pages with question marks because your computer does not have Japanese fonts (mojibake). It should be displayed properly once you install Japanese Language Pack if your computer is Windows. I don't know if you need to do anything special if you have Mac - I think all you need to do is just to add Japanese in the language setting of the browser.

When I first saw the Safaris, I didn't want to like them - they seemed too "designy" in a bad way - but my trusty green Allstar EF has won me over, and now I love them. Got yellow and red Safaris, and look forward to picking up another Allstar or two. Great knockabout pens!

Lamy is soon to be introducting 2-new colours into the Safari range. I'll post more details when I have them.

Martin

I heard from a good source about a black and white clip model and vice versa, my contact saw them at a pen show in Germany. According to him, both new model look great.

No date for distribution in Canada:(

Thanks for the list. Where did you get all those color names? Were those the original names from Lamy?

Also, You forgot the three Al-Star version and the Black Joy calligraphy pen.

The first two in Orange and Green are the ones that I'm looking for......

The names are official Lamy names in Germany. They may not be used in other markets.

Al-star colours are: silver (alu), graphit, silverblue, silvergreen, lilac (unsure about the real name).

There are two kinds of Joys: all black and black body with silver cap.

I'm looking to purchase (replace) a flame (orange) Lamy fountain pen and having trouble finding one. Does anyone have an advice / suggestions? No luck with most of the stores found through Google, and no luck on eBay. Thanks.

It was just a week ago that I saw a few Flame Safari's on Ebay. You might want to check there.
