Lamy Safari Colours

Does Lamy tell shops to stop selling older colours?

 

I was in a shop 2 weeks ago and they had at least 5 Aquamarine Safaris hanging up. Then a week later, none

You need the dark blue Safari to round out your spectrum.

matte finishes:

savanna green

terracotta orange

white matte finish???

 

 

internationals:

blue with yellow

black with yellow

so, were we sposed to have two sets? one by date, one by rainbow? NOooo.

PS... my response to the other thread on pen for ultimate job, would be a flower pots filled with Safari's of every color with matching inks.. for everyone to use : )

The Terracotta, Savanna and the swedish blue&yellow are almost impossible to find

The Flame (orange+red) and the white+black are becoming very hard to find. I need a flame to complete the limited series since 2004

I think there is not a shiny black with black clip. Maybe it's a frankenlamy

Why is there such variation in caps? My black and apple green both have a cross in the same colour as the body, my yellow one with chrome clip has a black cross, and my orange has a circle.

 

I must say, the circle is my favourite.

I didn't think much of Safaris, until I tried someone else's. Now the fever has set in. One lilac/silver blue M ALstar and one white OB Safari, and counting. Grey is next.

 

Kind of fun actually. And there are many, many more expensive obsessions.

There's also another link in that thread regarding another discussion about a varient in Lime Green Safari versions.

 

I have one plus 3 others on FPN, so it is looking like there's another type out there - lime green cap and barrel, smoke section, black nib, black clip and black cross on cap.

It's a different colour from the newer Orange, right? Mine is obviously darker. Now all I need is the Lime to round up my collection, argh!

also still hoping for the center combo of oranges, the Alpen, Savannah Terracotta beyond my possibilities.

Gogira, with the arrival of the newest apple green there have been a few lime on the bay at less than the sky prices, keep hope : )

Yep, it's a bit darker, but not too much. Just like two orange plastic batches

 

In the picture is barely noticeable due to the flash

When I picked out my color, which was a red one with a red clip the man behind the counter smiled and said "you do know there's only four-hundred of those in the world, right?" I didn't, and I felt quite happy with my purchase of such a good looking and good writing pen.

I don't know if there's any special meaning to it - the man behind the counter mentioned that there's only four hundred in the world and they were especially made for NK, though there's no logo on it other than the standard Lamy logo imprinted on the body.

Found it, but they do not do online sales - sad.

My 1st Safari is red too - black clip.. after many years still my favorite.

Drool, indeed. I have all of the Al-Stars in their colorful glory, and this one stands out. There's just something about its satiny brown appearance that sets it apart from anything else I own.
