How Do You Write Your 'z'?

Chrissy

Recommended Posts

my Z's are no longer cursive but a printed Z.

It's interesting, that many talk about the form of z in opposite terms of "cursive" vs. "print".

There are many cursive scripts in the world, where the z looks like the printed one.

Greetings,

Michael

I am enjoying this discussion and am glad to know I'm not the only one who finds himself snagged by such minutia as how to properly write a "z". I have to think hard every time I come upon one in a sentence and make a decision as to how its going to look. Of course, when I make that decision it has little bearing on how it actually does look, but at least I decide. After reading this thread I have even more choices.

Regarding writing of the numeral 7 with a bar or without -- I consciously started writing them with the crossbar a few years back, but only when writing on the chalkboard/whiteboard; I have ESL students from everywhere, and I want to be sure they know it's a 7, as opposed to a 1.
