In the days gone by, people believed that if a person touched an object, that object would form a bond with a part of their soul.

Today such a thought seems almost absurd....Until you enter the realm of Montblanc's master craftsmen.

Very, very classy in black.

I often go for colors but this one in basic black looks sleek and smart!

Nice pen. J

I have the Marine Amber version which looks great, but the black silver combination works just as well. Nice pen!

I have been giving the Carene some consideration myself, but haven't yet located the perfect one. Not that I know which one is the perfect one :happyberet:

I normally prefer gold trim but that pen is beautiful. Maybe I'll consider silver trim for my third Carene. B)

Carenes are wonderful pens. I have the Marine Amber with a fine nib (plus matching rollerball) and a black lacquer with sterling silver cap (I think it was called Deluxe back in the day) with a medium nib. Both are well behaved and excellent writers as long as you're not interested in flex (which I'm not).

It's hard to stop at one, and then you'll find yourself looking at the Edson, the Carene's big brother. I have an Edson Sapphire as well with a broad nib, man, what a pen!

Collection Counts: Cross-4, Esterbrook-15, Eversharp-1, Graf von Faber-Castell-1, Jinhao-2, Kaweco-1, Lamy-6, Levenger-2, Monteverde-1, Pilot/Namiki-3, Noodler's-1, Parker-18, Rotring-10, Sailor-1, Sheaffer-19, TWSBI-1, Visconti-4, Waterford-1, Waterman-7

Favorite Inks: Diamine, Levenger, Private Reserve, Noodler's Lexington Gray

Hmmm...Have been thinking about getting one for a while now, but the Carene seems to evoke some pretty strong reactions. Glad to see a happy user....

The Carene is a terrific pen. I have an abyss blue fine point on my desk right now. I also have a couple deluxe in green/gold cap, and my favorite lookers... a set of FP, RB, BP, MP in coral orange.
