I very seldom 'flex' my 30 semi-flex pens. I think of them as springy ++.

There are inks that do not show their best because most of my semi-flex nibs are wetter writers.

Fact is I seldom 'flex' my nibs that have more flex....I'd have to work at it...and I'm lazy. Only an occasional descender or letter.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

I oscillate from one style to the other. I love pointy, flexy nibs but I also like the shading of a broad, calligraphic line. I will observe that it's easier to find vintage nibs on the finer than the broader end of the spectrum, but on the other hand I love my Prera nib and it's like a year old.

I almost want a desk set now as I realized how much I have to always cap and uncap my pens...

A possible desk pen convert. :)

Yes desk pens definitely have a place in the world. You just have to match it to the situation.

My wife likes the desk set that I have on the kitchen table. A pen is always easily available, just grab and write.
