What's Your Biggest Pen

My newly arrived Edison Herald Grande is the longest, especially posted.

Beats out the 149, Delta Oversize easily.

I have to keep my biggest Duofold outside :

That's fantastic! You can tell folks to just look for the Duofold when they are suppose to come to your house! : )

My Pelikan M1050, Visconti Divina Desert Springs, and Nakaya Portable Writer are all really big. The Nakaya's very slightly longer than the Visconti which is very slightly longer than the Pelikan, but the Pelikan is the heaviest.

Longest: Edison Herald Grande (B&B 2012 LE)

Widest: Rotring core in the cap, but widest barrel is probably a Ranga model 4.

The Visconti Forbidden City. A bit longer than the 149, and about the same diameter. But that's the biggest I would like for a pen.

Here's my biggest pen, a Namixin Chinese Dragon, shown next to a Pelikan 800 for perspective.

Not only is it huge and heavy, but miraculous as well. It has a magnetic 18 K nib. :yikes: (Not really. It is steel that is stamped 18K with a poorly-executed and off-center gold mask to make it a two-tone nib.)

Deccan Herald for thickness.

Ranga Giant Ebonite (aka Varuna Gajendra) for length. That thing could double as a kubotan and is probably not going to be allowed on flights.

True bliss: knowing that the guy next to you is suffering more than you are.

Speaking of big Rangas, look at this one! Two other Rangas and a Collier for comparison. I'm ashamed to say that I completely blacked out about ordering this monster, and when the Ranga box appeared today I thought I was going crazy and that the rollerball I ordered four days ago was here already! Ever forgotten that you ordered a giant pen??

For all of its size, it is comfortable to write with. Without the caps it seems that the next in size is the Bamboo. The Monster had one of the old Wality nibs, but I managed to swap it out for a Goulet. Much better! It did not come with a converter so I am waiting to see if it has Ranga Leakage Issues.

The Yard-o-Led Grand Viceroy is a fairly large pen.

The Sheaffer PFM, Legacy, Legacy 2 and Legacy Heritage are a fairly wide pens.

The Ferrari da Varese Botticelli is also fair size.

Parker Big Red and modern Duofold

Sheaffer Senior and OS Balance might fit in.

Montegrappa Extra and Extra 1930 as well as the Eleganza, Privilege and Privelege Deco are pretty big.

ST Dupont XL Olympio/Orpheo and Neo-Classique are big.

OMAS new style Milord is even bigger than the old style Paragon and the 360.

Pelikan 1050 is large.

My Montblanc 149s are pretty big.

Waterman Man and Opera.

Can't really decide which I'd call the biggest and almost certainly forgot some.

Mine is a Laban Kaiser

Dimension:

Length with cap posted: 16.1cm [6.3 in]

Length with cap closed: 15.1cm [5.94 in]

Central circumference: 5cm [a miniscule off of 2 in]

No diameter given, but it is commensurate with the other dimensions.

Dimensions from Pen Gallery web site. Am I the only person who really would like the length with cap off? Unless the pen is tiny, e.g., TWSBI mini, or Jin Hao pocket rocket, I do not post my pens.

Despite the size, the pen is very light in the hand.

I also have a Taccia whose model name I cannot remember, which is roughly the same length as the Kaiser with both capped, but shorter than the Kaiser with both caps off.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
