Nemosine Singularity

I have had great customer service from Xpens. I ordered 2 Nemosines and one was missing a converter. I contacted them and happened to mention that the boxes were damaged in the mail (this was when the pens came in nice "jewel type" boxes). I specifically stated I was not asking for new boxes as the pens were OK - non-the-less, I got the converter and two new boxes by return mail!

Nice to see that their service is also good for those outside the USA. (I have no affiliation with them other than as a very satisfied customer.)

I can't complain about the Nemosine Infinity. I ordered one off of Amazon for $15 (free shipping) and just recieved it in the mail. The nib is pretty smooth, the pen looks good and I haven't had to adjust it. I would say mine is a touch on the wet side (a great thing) and well worth the money.

I have the same one. Do you mean Singularity? If not, the Infinity looks just like a Singularity.

I've also had a really nice e-mail from Nick at Nemosine Pens. It might be a cheap pen but I doubt I would get such service from Parker, Waterman or the like.

My Nemosine Singularity has become an incredibly balky starter. Even if only a few hours have passed since I last used it, it takes at least 30 seconds of shaking and scribbling before I can get it to write continuously. I don't think that the nib is drying out, because it will write with the ink that remains in the slit. I don't remember it being this way when I first bought it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Two special circumstances apply: (1) A few weeks ago, I dropped the pen while it was capped and broke the top off the cap. I glued it back together so that you can't even see that it has been broken, and I am pretty sure that there is no gap for air to get in, but the fact that I damaged the pen makes me uneasy about sending it in with a complaint. (2) After gluing it back together, I also removed the convertor and have since been using it with the barrel filled eyedropper-fashion. I don't know if this is detrimental to the flow of ink, but it could be.

I received my granite version yesterday. I filled it with Pelikan Brilliant Green ad am happy with it so far. No cracks in the cap. I like the nib, wrote fine right out of the box.

This is the Singularity, right? The 'granite' is really just shiny gray, but I like it a LOT with its smallish itlic nib.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I just got a grey and a demonstrator just yesterday. I think the demonstrator looks better than the grey, but maybe that's just because I like demonstrators in general. I'd rate the looks and feel as similar to the old-style Sheaffer No-nonsense. Better than a Pilot 78g, but not as nice as a Prera. It's a nice looking pen, when you pick it up, it feels light weight, you might expect it to feel more solid based on how it looks.

I got both pens with .6mm "Calligraphy" nibs. The .6mm isn't really a sharp calligraphy nib at all, it's a smooooth cursive italic. 1.1mm italics are usually too wide for me, this .6 is perfect. I really like the nib a lot!

thanx. i do like the fact that it is light weight! i'm still thinking whether i need another pen or not  . IF i do get it, i probably go for the .8mm italic point.

thanx again for the info!

Just got two Nemosine pens from xFountain Pen )no affiliation) today. The first one is a demonstrator w/ a .6mm italic nib and the second is a blue w/ an "ef" nib. I love both of them and particularly the .6mm.

They are light, smooth, responsive and will definitely be part of my regular rotation.

Of course my next impulse is to go back and order more. Oh yes, did I mention that "xFountainpen" offers free shipping on orders of $15 or 20.00. Not sure the exact amount and it was low.

BTW, he also included a box of 10 cartridges for free - definitely a nice gesture.

Due to the excellent service I've had from Nick at Nemosine Pens and at xfountainpens.com, I have another 2 on the way!

I got my demo XF over the weekend. I'm still trying to decide which ink will work best in it to produce a drier line. Then I'm definitely slathering it up with silicone grease and making it an eyedropper. But so far I've been pleased with the build quality, relative to the price.

I might give some of these away as stocking stuffers. But I'd really like to get some imprinted to give away promotionally.

[Also got the x530 Mitternacht (Jinhao 159) with an XF nib. Really like the Knox nib, actually. Going to order some more K35s to toss in my Konrads and Ahabs]

This thread did a great job convincing me xfountainpens was worth a shot. Very satisfied so far.

It's definitely good for the price, though I think I'd much prefer the Nemosine Fission for ~double the price (I paid $15 for the black medium nib with free shipping from Amazon. Very pleased with the smoothness though.

After quite a few Singularities, I bought a Fission which arrived yesterday. The same great nib performance - buttery smooth - that I got with most of the Singularities out of the box, The shape is nice, and the cap screws to the end of the barrel to post it securely - a nice touch.

However, I have a couple of problems with it. First, the section is straight sided metal plated with shiny chrome. I see this on a few other pens and can't really understand it as, unless someone makes a Teflon coated section, it is the most difficult arrangement to grip easily. The less shiny plastic and curved sides, that fit thumb and fingers, of the Singularity is, to my mind, preferable.Secondly, the extensive use of metal makes this a much heavier pen than the Singularity - again, a fatigue issue when writing a lot.

This is a very quick, first opinions, type of look. I will be doing a complete review soon as time permits - but, so far, I think I prefer the less expensive Singularity.

Received my two "Singularities" (does that make them a Duality?) last week and they a beautiful.

Got a Demonstrator (my first demonstrator) w/ the .6mm italic and it writes like a dream (using Noodler Navaho Turquoise), smooth, light and even nice to look at (imho).

The second was a "blueberry" singularity. Almost as smooth with a nice comfortable, light feeling to it. Makes me want to write more, right now!

P.S. I have strong feeling that there are multiple singularities in my future.

I feel a strong connection with the evil villain Nemo in the most recent Startrek movie where he uses "Red Matter" to initiate a black hole aka a "Singularity" to utterly destroy the planet Vulcan. Nemosine, red housing of the fountain pen and the name singularity.

Sadly my ivory Singularity has a crack in the cap too. Guess they are just very delicate pens.
