@79spitfire, how do you find the nib widths compared to some of your other pens? I think my F is as narrow as my Lamy 2000 EF.

Thank you Eeyvind. I'm not sure how I can write with it either!

It's similar to my Safari M, I don't have a Safari B. It is narrower than the 2OB on my Knox Aristotle, and slightly narrower than my Kaweko Sport B. The nib is smooth, but not the smoothest I've ever used, I expect it to get smoother with use.

Beechwood - an awesome 51! I've never tried an oblique nib, but your sample looks really good and now I am tempted!

restlesscourage - the 45 has been on my list for a while. I have a 45 with a 14k M nib, but the nib does not write well at all, so I am debating getting another 45 or having this one fixed.

79spitfire - wow! A really nice Mini, and a perfect match for the Steel Blue (one of my favorite inks).

Great pens and inks everyone! I had computer troubles this week and was unable to upload anything for several days, so I felt obligated to take a bunch of pics to make up for my absence.

I love looking at everyone's pens, and inks, and it makes me wonder how you go about selecting which ink for a certain pen. I have over 200 different inks ( ) and nearly that many pens (  ) which makes the options nearly endless. I refuse to begin mixing inks for fear I would spiral in that zone for months, if not years. I try to regularly rotate through all of them in one way or another, always gravitating toward my stub nibs, of course.

Have a great weekend!

DAVID

(I know, I know - the Esterbrook J and the Pelikan 100N could both be a little less than 60 years old, but I really like them!)

I have been blown away by how well the EF nib on my 45 performs. If I end up getting another vintage pen eventually, it's going to be another 45. I'm hooked. It seems the nibs can be had pretty reasonably, so if the issue with yours if primarily with the nib, maybe that would be an option?

Here's my three everyday pens at the moment.

I got a cigar case at the flea market, and I use it to carry my pens. Easy, cheap and practical. ;)

Unknown german (?) pen. There's no brand name on it anywhere.

My father's old Parker 51. I only use this pen at home, I don't want to risk losing it by accident, that's why it isn't allowed to leave my desk.

Recently received this Safari - my second. Thought with winter around the corner or here already, white would be an appropriate color.

The ink color is really growing on me and I am trying to remember the sequence of steps (errors) that created it. A bonus is the ink has decent water resistance and dries more quickly than Ebony Green.

The paper is thin, but takes ink well.

Hi all, I wrote this yesterday but couldn't post it

Skysora, that's a nice ringtop. It's a Waterman 0552 1/2 v right? What's the nib like?

Occipital Lobe, welcome to FPN and the group. Give the Ancient Copper a try in a broader nib.

thanks to this board, I was convinced to get the stub and flex nibs above. I am sure to get more in the future

I'm starting to obsess about different kinds of pens. Today I bought a Lamy Safari. Sooooo, how does you pronounce "LAMY" ? Is it Lah-Me or what?
