The nib writes wonderfully Suji.

Is that just a normal BB with stubbish qualities or have you had the nib worked?

Thanks :)

Hi,

I had Pendleton Brown turn it into a stub. It is so wonderfully smooth. I highly recommend him.

Tringle, yeah it's a good one too, just enough stubbiness to give you that look, but thin and flexy like a good waterman flex nib, and quite wet. I've had it for almost twenty years and used it almost exclusively as my main writer till recently. When I came across David's stub thread I recognized that that was what I'd been drawn to all along, albeit in a more limited way! So I went and found a really nice CS 85L w a wide and flexy stub, and am on the lookout for more. I actually love going back and forth between types of nib, so for instance last night I inked a Duofold w a xf waterman flex nib, which I hadnt used in a while. I had a hunch that it would work great w RnK Alt Goldgruen, which I just got a bottle of, and sure enough, it did. But it's a radically different writing experience, as the fine lines are barely visible, and even though the wider parts arent that wide relatively, they stand out more because of the thinness of the basic line, sort of like in copperplate I guess. I'll post an example in a bit.

Here's the pen I was writing about, a Duofold w a Waterman nib which writes an xxf to bold, and exploits really well Alt Goldgrun as a shading ink. I would even put it the other way, that shading inks as this one allow one to see more clearly what the nib is doing.

This is my first Montblanc, and I absolutely love this pen. I'm very grateful to my parents for gifting it to me :) I'm currently waiting for some 3-step polish to shine up the barrel and I'm going to pick up a jeweler's cloth to get rid of the tarnish on the nib. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas/holiday season!

How kind and thoughtful of them. Congratulations.

That Blue Merle suits it and your handwriting perfectly . . . :)

My 2 watermans, gosh i seem to be uicky they are smooth. Using copy paper to write on, with waterman black ink. I cleaned the expert last night and inked today, started right off. Not sure which model expert this is, but it is black lacquer and both feel great

The TWSBI 580AL is a great pen! You'll love it! The 1.1 stub nib is a bit finicky for me, but still wonderful as long as you have a wet ink. ENJOY!

Thanks! If it performs at least as good as my Safari with its 1.5, I'm good.

Preparing some drawings for school Christmas party today morning.... Pastels were used on cheapest craft paper, but to make eyes' expression, strokes of f-pen (TOMBOW Object) were applied and a few pale colors.

Very nice! Hope the party was great.
