I like your old style.

(Like you needed to hear that after all that squiggly practice  )

Whats funny even after all that practice, I used a ampersand a couple of times while writing and my "old" style came out of my hand naturally. Guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks!! LOL

This pen is called Free Standard Size Famous Style "Senior Collection" Fountain pen. Made in China. Nib: Fine-Medium; not scratchy; however, some feedback. No flex. I've inked this pen with Montblanc Black, using one of my converters. Did not flush pen, however, it wrote fairly well out of the wrapping. Screw cap. Cannot cap when writing. Pen is 4 1/2 in., and cap is 2 1/4 in. This pen is for those with small hands, and thank goodness I have small hands. This pen reminds me of the Jinhao Century Blue Acrylic, however, it has gold tone furnishings. Clip is tight. Nice to have in my purse for signing checks, or brief writing. Nice weight, and easy to handle when writing. I do, however, prefer pens that I can cap. I got two of these pens. The other is a red acrylic pearlescence. Both have a nice look about them.

An FPN member helped smooth out this nib for me.

Also received a replacement nib for my Eggens-Hambler

Took a pen turning class. This is my meager effort in making a fountain pen. This is my first and my last! Pen made with wood, and has a medium nib. Inked with Montblanc Black.

I'm glad others enjoyed my tasteless jokes.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

My old friend Dr. Sigmund Freud would respond to this "sometimes a nib is just a nib." or in German Manchmal ist eine Feder ist nur eine Feder.

But Troy, I'm only talking about PENS...really, I prefer broad and wet to thin and dry. Whatever are you talking about?

Penturning takes a special touch. Though I thoroughly enjoyed the class (held in Connecticut), I do not think I have that touch. I had even gone so far as to buy a lathe, wood blanks, epoxy, safety glasses & cutting tools.

As a longtime professional woodworker who has taught my craft to many students I would like to take exception to "a special touch". Yes, there is a range of talent people bring to a craft, but desire, patience and perseverance can compensate a great deal for initial lack of skill. Don't discard all you've purchased but, perhaps, take additional instruction or just keep at it with a reasonable level of expectation that you can elevate as time goes on.
