Glad you like the paper. Try a wash on those inks... amazing. Beautiful new pen.

Ian:

Your "wee" pen looks like it might have a flexy nib. Apply a wee bit o' pressure and it the tunes separate that is "flex". It lets you write with thick and thin lines, to give your words dimention and interest. Welcome to FPN!

The pen is a Crocodile 2008 with blue leather on both the barrel and cap. On the barrel the leather is embossed with a a unusual flower-like pattern, which covers the entire barrel. On the cap there is embossed CROCODILE since 1952, along with the image of a crocodile. It is embossed on both sides of the cap. I wish I had a camera which would be able to capture how interesting this looks. The blue reminds me, somewhat, of the color teal, therefore I like to use that color ink in this pen. I use it in rotation at least a couple of times a year. On the nib they have also stamped Crocodile 2008. The pen is not to be capped when writing; could scratch up the leather. Clip is springy. I have had the pen for 6 yrs. It is be a nice writer, and an unusual pen. Let's just say I have not seen another person with one like it; well not in my circles.

I have purchased this vintage Sheafer at Singapore two days back. There is a stamping on the barrel showing 444, but all photos of 444 in google show inlaid nib type. I am not sure if this Sheafer is incorrectly marked, the seller told me this new old stock, from early seventies. Any advise ?

I must admit the first impression with this pen was not the best. Some photos of Sheafer 300 tested today :

I would not think you would trade a kidney for a pen. Could you imagine posting an advertisement? My twisted mind already has the headline. The antique Aristokrat pen I have is the same size as a M1000. I still think you should get your hands on a Soennecken. :)

You'd sell your kidney first. And then buy with M1000 Raden

You guys have some really beautiful pens and penmanship to match.

I picked up the shell of this at the Ohio Pen Show for a whole dollar. Then, I used some parts and made myself a working pen. So, I'm not sure what this is, but I'm using it!
