Wow, even the material of your jacket matches the pen perfectly !

As for attika89 - I'm not talking to attika89. His Custom 912 PO nib post has left me with desires and Christmas is a long way away in fountain pen years. :)

Haha, I hadn't noticed that. I've never before been accused of being fashionable.

As to your problems with attika89, I can certainly understand, even sympathize. It reminds me the mods should again seriously consider launching the FPN Relationship Counseling Center, for members with "issues" and also to help when a member's spouse, significant other or family is concerned with spending habits or general "fountain pen spiral". We might simultaneously launch FPN Debt Counseling, for those who overspend or are prone to overspending on pens, inks, paper, etc. Don't laugh, these are serious issues and making fun only minimizes the real pain inflicted by undue focus on fountain pens. All referrals will be anonymous.

Tas - I know how you feel, I suffer from PENVY too much on this website.

dcpritch - Wow that is a fancy MB, and I agree with Tas, you are mister coordinated! I could be the moderator of the PENVY, and counseling center for FPN. I visited Scottsdale Pen and Knife yesterday, lots of really nice modern pens. I have one pen I am currently coveting, that is a Sheaffer PFM, I am researching which model or version would best suit me.

My current PENVIOUS thought is for Cybea's Pelikan Raden. I held one once. Just once.

Hi Jenifermarie, and welcome to FPN! I'm glad you jumped right in.

tringle, you have quite the amazing collection of vintage pens!

Attila, I love your writing and especially the way you showcase inks.

Today I'm sporting an early Montblanc 25 Safety Pen in BHR, just returned from an arduous repair by a good friend. One thing I like about this pen is its length - 135mm with the nib extended (but without the cap - I really never post caps) - and its shape. It is gently tapered from back to front and seems to rest perfectly in my hand. Sorry to wax on; here are some pics, first a "pen selfie":

DC : Thats a really enviable acquisition. And the selfie is the Show Stopper ! Incidentally, can I ask if the BB nib was an original factory fit or you have done it as usual ?

Tringle : Thats a nice pen case. Quite roomy. I see there is no internal partition to cushion protect. Just curious to know - if the pens from opposite sides may be uncomfortably close to one another, when closed.

I bought the 1.5mm Stub for my Lamy Safari at the weekend. It's eating through ink, but I have a few samples I still need to try, so that's not a bad thing. Very much more fun than the F and M though.....

Pens: LAMY Safari Medium Nib with Delta Blue in converter, Bright Yellow LAMY Safari Fine Nib with R&K Helianthus in converter and a Baoer 051 with Deep Dark Purple in, you guessed it, a converter...

There are partitions. Look at the outside edges in the picture. This allows the pens to be viewed better as the partitions fold outward when the case is open.

Thanks. It is a factory BB nib that has been repaired.

Yesterday I tinkered a bit with my Dad's Parker 51. Today, the photo links aren't co-operating worth a tinker's dam, so I've put up the links themselves rather than photos. I'll put up photos when LiveJournal quits being an arse about access (which, I add, I pay for).

Hi Leon, that's a great looking pen. The sterling silver cap coincides nicely with your idea of a 25th anniversary present. Thanks for sharing.

The other way to put up photos is to use the Upload button at the top of each FPN page. Its easy (especially once you do it a few times) and then you don't have to worry about a hosting site. Instructions here.

Thanks, DC. My parents married in the early 20s, so a 25th anniversary would have been about that time. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the cap cleaned up, it was literally black with oxidation; not willing to risk silver polish interacting with the jewel, I used a paste of "Bartender's Friend" very gently.

For some reason, when I put up photos, it tells me I can't upload, that I'm out of storage. Makes no sense to me, but it is what it is; that's why I store stuff on my gallery at L/J. Today it didn't like the URL for the alternate site I use now and then, Flicker.

I'm not an addict. I quit for hours at a time.
