Sorry for the unfinished drawing :P

Oh, my goodness! I have the same pen in the CA101 version! Many years ago a retiring coworker was cleaning out his desk and gave it to me because I was one of the few people in the office who appreciated fountain pens. He also gave me a Parker 51 pen sent and a Parker 21 pen set, plus several Sheaffer No Nonsense pens.

I could post piles of amazing photos from the canoe trip but don't want to clog up this thread. Suffice it to say it was fantastic!

David, there are so many beautiful things in this post! :)

I love your pictures!

Happy to hear ;)

I love your profile pics!

Sorry for the unfinished drawing :P

Really great ink! Thank you!

No worries! I also happen to misspell usernames from time to time.

Actually I did it some posts ago

Wow, attika89, that Yama-Dori ink is quite something. I will need to get a bottle of that at some point. Great handwriting as well.

Thank you :)

It is really likable! I always have it in one (or two) of my pens ever since I got it.

Nice! I love the look of CA101s. Do you use yours? I love this colour too, very 50s! And that's a nice coworker, to give you his pens, including a Parker 51!

Thank you! I am in awe and inspired by your own posts, especially with that beautiful handwriting.

That ink, that writing, I'm just awestruck! That Waterman 52 looks similar to mine too, in that a piece of his cap is missing, haha.

V - that is some serious sheen.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Unfortunately, no. I don't use it often as the "official" cartridges are no longer made. I have used a Waterman cartridge with some success, but they're getting more difficult to find as well. (I miss the days when I could pick up proprietary cartridges and fountain pens in the school supply aisle at the grocery store!)

And yes, this coworker was a nice guy, a retired Navy man who could talk your arm right off and then beat you to death with the soggy end! Even though we all loved him dearly, we secretaries had a pact to rescue each other if we ever got stranded in his office listening to one of his interminable stories.

He passed the pens along to me sometime in the 80's when those Parkers weren't quite the collectors' items they are today. It was still a nice gesture, from one fountain pen enthusiast to another.

DCpritch - Just a guess. Were you in the BWCA? Great photo!

I've been wondering that also...AGES AGO (jeesh, 1968-70?) I led canoe trips up there, from a boys camp in northwestern Wisconsin, but regrettably have not been back since. Good to see that it's still so beautiful.

BWCA it was. Tim, you must really be an old-timer! :D The first time I paddled there was 1975, I think. I haven't missed many years since, and the reason is obvious when each year you see things like this (photo I took Saturday morning with an iPhone 6):

Tim, you owe it to yourself to get back there!

Thanks! It's usually a bit harder to coax out, but it looks like that if I use Original Crown Mill Pure Cotton stationery, and shine a really really bright light on it when I take the picture. :happyberet:

Well, I can't compare to the rest of you, but this is what I have been using today.

That's a lovely color combo! The purple and pale yellow compliment each other so nicely. Reminds me of one of my favorite flowers:

I'm really really loving the Organic Studios Nitrogen. It's a very pretty blue and makes the slight roughness of this Doane Paper way smoother. :)

Hi David,

I believe those photographs must be amazing, guessing from the one you have posted. Why don't you post a few more either here or on the "Creative Expression - pen and other photographs" thread. Many will agree with me, it would be delightful.

BTW, you got a wow nib with that 149. BBB. I would die for it. Beside, the Gandhi ink is so attractive. I was under the impression it is light, though personally I have never used it. Do you know the Gandhi pens and ink were banned in India. The politicians in their best wisdom ( doubt if they have got any) thought its not a tribute ! Strange. But that's what politics is all about. Someone has rightly said all Politics is the business of the scoundrels and all Politicians are @#$.
