Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using, *show* Us!

HalloweenHJB - I have a couple WWII German made pens, all of which were providers of supplies to the NAZI system. Everyone has to write, even Facists! I do not have a safety YET, but I am looking at yours with total PENVY....Beautiful.

Thanks, Tringle. It's my first safety, and it took some explaining on another forum for me to understand exactly how it worked before I made a bid on it. Now that I have it, it takes a little more care, but in the case of a Waterman, the writing experience is exceptional. I would love to see some of those German-made pens (Pelikans?)...

Thanks! I don't know how I lucked into it, but I'm not giving it back! With or without the freaky Italian army connection.

As always, I adore your stunning messages in dreamy colors!

Sermon prep. Matthew 5:38-42. Blue Lamy Safari loaded with BSB for the Greek text. Staedtler Mars Lumograph HB for the translation work (and Pentel clic eraser). Red Lamy Safari loaded with Sheaffer Red to highlight lexical and syntactical items I want to look at more carefully.

EDIT: Spelling

Might I ask where this colorful sermon will be delivered?

I am in awe of everyone's pens and beautiful handwriting on this forum. This is a great thread for those of us who are thoroughly "eye-minded" (visual learners).

Recently, I was able to get a truly stunning Italian-made Waterman 42 ("Safety") from the 1930s, and I filled it today, and all is well! The only slightly bothersome aspect is after you post the cap, and remove it, it leaves ink on the bottom of the pen, which has to be wiped away with a rag. But the beauty of the pen more than makes up for this minor inconvenience!

When it was up for auction, I don't think that people realized that the engraving suggests that this must have been a pen that was given to officers in Mussolini's 44th Infantry regiment. In spite of the horrible fascist connection, it may be a pen of truly historical significance! (I hope I'm right about this!)

Here are a couple of photos, and a writing sample:

Lovely looking pen.

What ink is it?

Just want to say - I love this porcelain pen! Can I ask where you got it? Is it real porcelain, and is it heavy to write with?

I bought it on ebay for something llike 6 or 7 € with P&P . Easy : -"searh for". Porcelain fountain pen worldwide .....

It,s a pleasure to write with. It´s heavy but I like heavy pens ..... I'm going look for the weight and let you know ......

Hello Diderot: Although it may not look like it, I use Diamine Ancient Copper in that pen. I wanted my favorite ink for that special pen! I think when I brightened the photo, it lightened the color of the ink (it's a bit richer in normal light).

Lovely, Tringle! The one with the triple thin bands of gold on the cap looks like a real treasure.

I love the idea of having little bits of history close by to continue to speak to us about our shared past. Enjoy them!

Sorry, but I also got into the lyric thing :P

149 OBB - Diamine China Blue

Actually I couldn't find this lyrics anywhere... :roller1:

On no you di'int!

C'mon, that's beautiful!

Beautifully written --great consistency and evenness! And I, too, have been doing a lot of lyrics in my Rhodia notebook. Here's a bit from one of my favorite Joni Mitchell songs. Pen: Lloyd's (mysterious little button filler from the 1930s --English made??); ink: Diamine Burnt Siena.

I had a feeling it was, but was not sure.

Many thanks.

I really enjoy all my pens, the one with the three cap bands is a favorite of mine. In fact I will be using the pen today. Maybe I will be whisked back to the 1930's - 1940's as I write with this pen and start to daydream.
