Just discovered this astonishing thread.

Shot of my working tools in the field. Nakaya Portable Cigar Kuro-tamenuri with a Seven Seas Writer and the just arrived Gfeller Kip cover. Very very satisfied with this daily set of tools.

This guy is staring into his laptop surfing the internet. Some news article got his attention.

+1 on previous comments, plus: you don't see that many ipods around anymore either. Like the looks of your apparently precise handwriting as well.

Although I love Ricecracker's picture I keep feeling squirmish thinking about that Nakaya rolling off that spine, down the page and onto the concrete!! ouch!! I don't know if I could bring myself to ever use my future Nakaya unless the ground was padded below the desk.

Thanks for all the kind words. I am very lucky in my toys and locale.

And I must admit, I am the guy that buys nice, precious things but then proceeds to use and abuse them. None of my gear is treated as a museum piece though the argument can be made that they should be.

Expect a photo in a couple of years of that beautiful Nakaya, heavily worn and dinged. Maybe it'll be a nice patina of use. Maybe it'll be a tragedy. Will find out.

I've just filled my three weapons for tomorrow.

The Yard O Led has been filled with Iroshizuku Murasaki Shikibu, the Montblanc Bohème with a Montblanc Black cartridge and the work horse, my Huashilai filled with Waterman. I always have 3 fountain pens with me, each of it having a different ink. Most of the time, one of the three is a rather cheap pen I can use and let without attention...

I have had a little problem with the Huashilai : nearly half a converter has been spent on the "H" ....

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Amber Lea --

Is that Sailor Kingdom Note ink still available, and if so, from whom? I haven't been able to find anything online that didn't involve exchanging my soul for it and Daniel Webster isn't practising law at present to my knowledge.

Thanks,

Leon

I do not expect to contribute much to this thread as I think my daily tools are set for quite some time. I tend to find a flavor that I like and then obsessively beat it to death.

So here is my current rig and you can be guaranteed that at any moment of the day, wherever I am, I will have these items on me.

pomperopero, I'm loving that Sheaffer. I have one like it but need to find a cap for it. I would love to be able to use mine for something other than a dip pen (with fp ink only).

That Nakaya + Oxblood combo rocks! Really brings out the red urushi color in that pen. Care to share what inks you have in your other pens?

You're right! Sorry for the omission:

Sailor Imperial - Sailor Oku-yama

Pilot Prera - Noodler's Bulletproof Black (the perfect pen-ink combo for my work Moleskines)

Visconti Homo Sapiens - Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo
