On my desk today, top to bottom:

Indian-made ebonite eyedropper, fine nib, large size

Indian-made ebonite eyedropper, re-ground to a fine stub/italic nib, medium size

Pelikan M200, fine nib

Waterman Taperite, X-Fine accountant's nib

Sheaffer Touchdown TM, 14k fine nib

Parker 45, 14k medium nib

Sheaffer Flat top Junior, fine nib

All sitting in the new desktop holder I made.

Technical details, for those who care: 4/4 N. American Ash; 4.25 X 4.25 X 8.75, angled at 30 degrees, bored with a 0.75 Forstner bit, bores offset by 0.125 inches with the drop to the left; finished to 220 grit, clear penetrating finish (3 parts raw tung oil, 1 part raw linseed oil, 1 part Japan drier, 11 parts spirits of turpentine). Butt-jointed with Titebond III. Minimal cursing involved, for a change no blood sacrifice was made. Damn close, though. ;) Bore openings were enlarged and smoothed with several Nicholson files.

Excellent Job. I am also working on my own pen stand.. The difference is I have no tools at home and have to sneak in some work on lunch time. We have a drill press and a sander everything else will have to be done by hand.. Lots of cursing on my end as the first attempt cracked like egg shells!.. so far no blood sacrifice yet.

Thank you for sharing!..

Jodyw, thanks! It is not very difficult to work on your handwriting really. I like the look of the translucent green (acrylic?) Monteverde, can you use it as an eyedropper?

I know .. and I am trying. I have a couple of obstacles that I must overcome in the process. I am left-handed and a side/underwriter .. so I have to work on not smearing ink .. which leads me to what I am currently working on .. writing SLOWER. To overcome sloppiness .. I need to slow down. I also am trying to write in cursive a little more. I don't think I want cursive to be my "always" writing style .. but I need to practice it and make it look good as well. Once I get the slower, steadier more consistent writing down, then will come working on moving the arm more and not so much the fingers. I have taken to writing my notes and things, then taking a picture and uploading it to evernote as opposed to just typing it in the app.

If you have anything to add to me current "curriculum" .. I am open to suggestions.

As far as the eyedropper question ..

I have not tried it and I can't really find any information on it. There are no rubber sealing rings around the body threads .. they do however make a good seal at the section joint. Speaking of the section, the internal (back-half of the section) is metal .. so I *THINK* it would be possible, but keep in mind, that the ink would come in contact directly with metal.
