I got a the last Noodler's Konrad Ebonite Flex Special Edition that the Goulet's had in stock yesterday. Now I'm furiously writing with it. Alas, I filled it with DeAtramentis Atlantic Blue, which is just not doing it for me. I've got a nice bottle of Noodler's Bernanke Blue standing by.

Very nice looking pen! How are you getting on with the flex nib?

Not a particularly pretty pen but I fancied trying a new stub nib. What I don't like though is the triangular barrel which means you have to hold the pen in a specific way which, for me, results in a slightly wrong angle for the nib. Anybody else has this problem?

I have a Lamy Safari and I don't have this kind of problem. Your handwriting is always gorgeous!

To be honest, it's not terribly flexy - maybe it's an acquired taste, but it takes more pressure than I feel comfortable with to flex.

Yes! Haven't tried the stub, but I have this very problem with the M, F and EF nibs I have tried. I have a tripod grip, but when I hold the pen 'properly', I can't get to the sweet spot. So I have to hold the triangular section awkwardly. It works for quickly jotting stuff down, but I can't use my Vista for more than that.

In addition to my Spinach in Browned Butter, I was also using my other great stub, a Parker 51 Signet with a factory stub.

Just arrived today: a late 1920s /early 1930s "Red Ripple" ("wood grain") Waterman 52. Perfect flexible nib. It's wonderful!

Indeed it is. It's a very nice pen and at the price, I think it was a bargain.

My phone doesn't take great pictures of writing, apparently. This is on some low-buck printer paper. Flash hides some of the blemishes on the pen lol.

Beautiful pen! Those nibs are just great, aren't they? Lovely writing.

It's not just me then. What a disappointment! I thought that grip would be nice to hold but now it makes the pen a bit useless… :-(

The VP is going to be using a 0.9 CI Italifine nib soon, can't wait to receive it.

Yes, sadly I agree with you. I get a tired hand pretty quickly when I flex my Konrad… or Creaper. Do wish someone would come up with a modern flex nib as soft and pleasant to use as some of the vintage nibs...
