Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using, *show* Us!

Great description - you've really told what the pen is like.

I've had one since they first came out (with a Pendleton Brown stub nib, to boot!) and carried it everywhere from Yankees games, Cottesloe Beach, boardroom meetings, wilderness canoe trips, and lots in between. It does develop a patina with use, works all the time, never looks out of place, doesn't hold enough ink in the converter, and is one of my standby travel pens. I'm leaving later this week for a two week trip (to celebrate with my wife our 30th anniversary) and it will be coming along - again.

Happy anniversary! Have you considered the conversion into an eye dropper?

Most cursive handwriting is difficult to understand; even even if it's nice. Your handwriting looks nice and is clear

Coop - is the section aluminum? If so, do you find you fingers sliding a bit? I've had trouble with this on a Visconti with a metal section.

Yes it is aluminium. And yes, with "normal use" my fingers do slide a tiny bit, although it seems less than with most other smooth sectioned pens I own.

But, as I usually have quite moist/greasy hands, I already compensate for the "sliding fingers issue" by holding the pen a little higher up, where the barrel meets the section. This gives me a little extra grip at the cost of a little bit of comfort, but as I rarely write more than a few pages in one session, that's acceptable to me.

I say "normal use" because I tried this for you while holding the section like normal people would and not the way I usually hold a pen.

And thanks for all the kind words about my handwriting guys (and gals). It really means a lot to me, as earlier this year I couldn't have written a half decent looking (or even readable to most people) sentence if my life depended on it. Improving my handwriting was (is) my personal improvement project for 2014 :)

Is that a Medium nib? Nice handwriting!

No, it's a 1.1 stub.

And thanks :)

I really like the Aristokrat, its a perfect size pen for my goofy sized hands. The nib is excellent and it holds a large volume of ink.

The pen in the middle is an Italian brand circa 1930 - 1940 called Royal, they made button fillers, vacs, pistons, and some lever fillers. This is a button filling example. A nice fat pen easy to use. Although the original nib I replaced after I snapped off the iridium I replaced it with a Parker Duofold Jr sized firm fine nib.

I will post some pictures later.

My phone doesn't take great pictures of writing, apparently. This is on some low-buck printer paper. Flash hides some of the blemishes on the pen lol.

I got a the last Noodler's Konrad Ebonite Flex Special Edition that the Goulet's had in stock yesterday. Now I'm furiously writing with it. Alas, I filled it with DeAtramentis Atlantic Blue, which is just not doing it for me. I've got a nice bottle of Noodler's Bernanke Blue standing by.

Not a particularly pretty pen but I fancied trying a new stub nib. What I don't like though is the triangular barrel which means you have to hold the pen in a specific way which, for me, results in a slightly wrong angle for the nib. Anybody else has this problem?

You're a lucky person. You have nice fountain pens, nice journal and nice pen wrap!
