APenPusher ... I adore your name...it's truth in advertising...mine would rightfully be "aninkyenabler". The Aurora 88 is nice looking.

Lamyrada -- I originally was going to post about how I hate the pen burps, but then you fixed it. So now, the comment is, "Really? That's it? I don't have the nib and feed installed properly?"

Tringle, I've only ever seen sets like that at auction. More superlatives follow.

DCPritch, that pen is hideous and should not be allowed out in polite society. Best to send it to me (I'll even use the same ink.)

Montblanc's Leonardo Red Chalk is fabulous ink, by the way

David, as always, your eye for matching ink with pen is wonderfully faultless!

Yum.

Does your blue beauty say "SKYLINE" on the back of the clip ring?

I forgot to get back to you on this and just remembered you had asked. The back of the clip ring has this imprint: "Eversharp Skyline Pat. Made in U.S.A.", which is interesting because this pen is commonly known as the Streamliner - the less expensive brother to the Skyline (or Skyliner) - but the imprint on the cap ring is identical to that found on the Skyline, even though the Streamliner doesn't have the piece which goes over the top of the derby. Hmmm, sounds like a good query for the experts in the Wahl-Eversharp Forum.

Thank you! This is very interesting, isn't it? Especially since the cap ring is not simply a borrowed part from the "true" Skyline line, the design is different. To me, it looks like the Streamliner is really just a dressed down Skyline, but still very much a Skyline. If anything, we should be calling them Skyline 'Streamliners'. I did pose the question over there but it didn't gain traction.

I ground my new Lamy 2000 ef into a spider web producing treasure!

check out the thread here for more pics:

Read your thread, amazing you pulled it off! It looks great. My nib customization skills are limited to spreading the tines by pressing the nib down on a hard surface.

I need to know what that orange ink is, by the way :)
