Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

That is so cool, almost like a chalk board except in color. And with each wash the colors become more intense. Very creative.

I went upstairs looking for something else, and found this last little stash of pen stuff from my long-ago. This was all stuff I had categorized as "Calligraphy" because it included a few old Sheaffer Calligraphy pens (based on the no nonsense), a couple of Sheaffer student pens (fine and medium), and an Osmiroid pen, circa 80's, with the Easy Change nibs. I also found a small stash of the early version nibs, the ones that also fit in the Esterbrooks. I have for the newer Easy Change nibs the Copperplate, Italic Fine, Italic Medium, Italic Broad and B4 (which is like a music nib, three tines, and huge), and for the early versions, the Esterbrook-fitting nibs, I have Italic Medium Straight, Italic Broad Straight, B3 and B4.

I cleaned them up and stuck the Italic Broad easy change nib on the pen (using the cheapy plastic squeeze convertor) and had some fun on Father's Day.

I need to learn some more about these Osmiroids. Like, do convertors fit this pen? It's the one with the plastic cap band, not the printed one.

I like this thread so much that I come back to it once and again. It is fun to look at the different pens and handwritten messages. I decided to emulate the "bird" design to place a sample of my cheap pens here. Just today i got a Noodler's Ahab but was somewhat disappointed at the writing. I managed to find an empty space to add it to my sample paper which I use as a guide to select the pen of the day. The 4 I like the most are 1) Rosetta Explorer, The Hero 2017 and the Pilot Metro/Lamy Safari. The Namiki Falcon writes very fine and never fails, but so do all the $10-$25 pens!

AAAndrew, I use my Osmiroid as an eyedropper since the body is plastic. Works like a charm.

But on the other hand... I did win ebay auctions for 4 cheapie pens. 3 Chinese (Jinhao 599 Black with M-nib, Jinhao 599 Smoke with M-nib and a grey marbled Jinhao 500 with a broad nib) and 1 Indian (Romus something, unknown nib). That's a whopping €11.83 for 4 pens, shipped. If only one of the Jinhaos writes as good as my X750, I'll be happy.

Coop: What ink is that?

Colour is a bit off due to crappy cellphone pic, looks better in real life.

... At least on my monitor that is...

It's a really nice colour, a slightly brownish purple, a bit Aubergine like.

The shading is a bit more visible in the analog world.

Amber, I love those washes! It has a glittery appearance - what did you use for it? BTW I'm finishing my letter, I hope you will like it.

Attika89, that Kingdom Note ink is gorgeous! That's one more Sailor ink on my wish list.

Thier, congrats on the beautiful Montegrappa!

Coop, Good luck with staying awake today! Been there, done that, got the keyboard imprints on my face.

Attika, good luck with the studies!

Disillusion, is that fifth color down Lie de The? You have it marked "Tea" on your pen.

And, (it's been a loooong time since I tried Blackletter, and it shows, but what they heck, I'm having fun!)

Don't think the cap would fit with an O-ring, so I'm assuming just some silicon around the threads of the nib unit? (this is the newer style of easy-change sections)

First day pens. Always an important decision. Spent much more time on this than on figuring out what to wear.

Nice! It is really difficult to make ink look as good on a monitor as i real life. This ink is great. I prefer the way it looks from a wet nib.
