Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The Cartier pencil was from my grandfather, its a twist action with the really large diameter lead.

I give up trying to take proper photos.

.... so I ordered $60 worth of calligraphy related supplies and 7 bottles of ink today.

AAAndrew: Thanks! I need to work on my slant and spacing. Love the Terry Pratchett quotes, always wanted to read more of his novels but it never happened. Congrats on the new job!

Finalist: WOW! Amazing! I especially love that bottle of ink.

I decided to try Blackletter style writing. It.Is.Hard. I'm used to cursive that flows where ever it wants to. Black letter is just a series of repeating shapes. Very rigid shapes. My brain refuses to accept this HAHAAAHAHAHA.

I'm afraid something ominous has happened to my friend the fox.

I love all your pens and writing! How do you do the effect on the "nevermore"? Is that a Parallel mixable ink gradation effect or using two pens with different inks? I can't get my Parallel pens to write that clean. Thanks.

It is simply J Herbin in a Lamy Safari with a 1.5mm italic nib. It shades nicely and has a golden sheen.

Tringle, Love that Skyline, and that Sheaffer nib is pretty darned amazing, for a Sheaffer.

00Photo, what are those pens you used for the blackletter??
