Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Brrrr. The feel of it sends shivers up my arm through my fingers. Can't say why. Just taking the cap off my Parker 45 is a real task and often done with a shirt sleeve to help.

It's one of the few pens, if not the only one, whose cap I don't hold whilst writing or sketching.

I have the same tactile sensitivity to certain pens. Some feel like warm laundry and fit comfortably in my hand, others (usually metal pens) give me the heebie jeebies....

Hi amber :

Wondering whether Pookie took a bite out of EB while EB was doing the so called "Community Service" or...or..?

EB is glad he's not made of lasgna. Thank God...the bite... its not Coop's Krullevaar with his sharpie claws !

Very amusing stories. Wonderful drawings. I think a character introduction as preface would be helpful to non- artist non- contributing but enthusiastic readers. Just my 2 cents.

BTW, the inks you are using - my God , they are fantastic. You got a wide collection of inks and I guess a full garage space for it !

You are right , I too like the Visconti more than the Nelson, but for the medium nib / thin writing ( of the Visc.)

Sinistral1 : Love that Iro You- Yaki ink. Your penmanship is so nice : looks like the 'suitable boy' for the ink.

Houston, I love your pen. It's really understated and your writing is a joy to read.

Thanks for sharing.

That was exactly what I was talking about those rolled papers that gummed up the roller ball. ICKY even the modern thermal receipts aren't as bad.

Well, see, I was making a reference to this quote and I was thinking about Pookie the teddy bear of the famous cartoon cat, Garfield. Garfield loves chocolate, lasagna and Pookie, he hates spiders and rain and he's not too fond of cute kittens.

Anyway, after I reread the post, I guess EB wasn't actually bitten, but it is a job hazard.

Do you mean more of a preface than Petro has done a few posts ago? I was thinking we would add that to the new thread as the start.

Houston, I think the MB you have is a "serious" pen suitable for court and it writes well. I like it. :) I had one like it back in the 80s and cried when I lost it. It was such a great writer.

So, how broad is the roller ball? I love liquid ink rollerballs, I just want them to put down a 1 mm line. (That's hard to find).

Strangely it varies with the angle, from perhaps a very fine, dry as sawdust line when held vertical to a fine-medium line with good flow when held low, shown below on Rhodia (5 mm squares):

I measure the maximum width at around 0.42mm; even though it will be wider on more absorbent paper it is a long, long way from your very broad 1mm line, I am afraid.

Sorry there are no pens here. I am travelling at present.

Amberlea, believe it or not the ink is a bog standard cross black ink cartridge. That B nib lays a very wet line though!
