My 3.5 week old pocket-worn Kaweco Sport AL high gloss after pocket carry. Life-worn hand much older:

This is note number 1. So much posting today I'll have to start working on note number 2.

Uncle Red:

No worries on the sub-$75 thread. Somebody suggested the Ranga ebonite pen with the NOS flexi 14K Eversharp nib, so I'm thinking about that. I don't have any ebonite pens, and they have one in my favorite color (olive drab) in a ripple pattern.

And the only thing in my pocket with that Kaweco AL Sport is just change, a lighter, a Spyderco Sage knife, and 3 guitar picks (nylon). Only that. :D

Oh, and if I've been hiking, maybe a little creek sand, and that's all. Oh, wait. A wallboard screw. And that's it. OK, OK, and a .22 long rifle shell, and that's the only thing in there.

Used this one that's been sitting in a drawer for several years. A friend of mine made this out of Jerusalem Olive Wood and it had a standard kit pen nib that just would NOT WRITE. I gave up and resigned it to a drawer. I botched a repair of one of my antique store finds and saw that the nib was the same size as the kit pen nib. I put it in, and tuned the nib a bit and now, it writes!

The ink is Pelikan Blue Black.

I am not frequent due to professional compulsion. I miss so much : many good pens : attractive handwriting. Almost every one has good hand. If I were gifted with a fraction of that ... anyway, old enough to learn and you can't teach new tricks to an old dog.

Ptero : That Octopus - beautiful color coordination. I always wonder which elicits greater appreciation : your beautiful handwriting or drawing ? To me, both are equally great !

DC: That Nox is a nice pen. Given me a choice, I would gravitate towards your Jade Duofold though.

Uncle Red : The Stipula Terra d' sienna music nib is a good one. Noticeable flex. The broad nib - attractive dark brown - good hand : all a pleasurable writing.

Amber : What a design !! Simple yet so striking. Combined with your nice hand writing , its ... what should I say...its Lethal !!! And you say you are just playing (with that Ahab ) ? :P

Today I am playing with some wild floral CS Nelson. Here we go :

  • I don't know anything about CS pens, but that is a nice looking pen.
  • Your penmanship is much more readable than a lot of the people I correspond with. I say it is also nice looking.
  • I'm old, and my handwriting looks a lot better today than it did 2 to 2.5 years ago. It isn't as pretty as any number of people in this thread, but still, a lot better.
