A sincere man am I
From the land where palm trees grow,
And I want before I die
My soul's verses to bestow.

All those moments will be lost in time.
Like tears in rain.
Time to die.

Reform Basic (W Germany, 1980 - 1988)

Stainless Steel + GF trims. C/C filler (international cartridges).

At first, I bought the FP. Some weeks after, I found the MP + BP set matching my FP.

Reform was a GREAT brand... A pitty they shutdown...

That didn't look anything like Nikita Red. I over saturated the photo in lightroom and now this is exactly what Nikita Red looks like (at least on my computer screen) --- Craig

Sorry for lack of tutuguan. It is Waterman Harley-Davidson Free Wheel Flames with an M nib (I think all the Waterman H-D Free Wheel and Horizon pens are M). It is a Kultur with H-D branding, basically. Here it is next to a Phileas. When I bought it, it was cheaper than any Phileas or Kultur, but the leftovers cheap ones being sold by liquidator types seems to have dried up in the past year. It is probably easier and cheaper to just get a Kultur at this point (in the US).

Two new pens arrived today! Yay! A Lamy 2000 in Fine, which is a wonderful pen to hold and so very smooth to write with, and a Waterman Carene in Vivid Blue, also with a Fine nib. The Waterman is a gorgeous pen, and nicely hefty. It writes very well, and I am also very pleased with it.

New inks for them, too.

(Ink and Lamy 2000 from Goulet Pens, Waterman Carene from nibs.com.)

Silly me then used the Sheaffer Lifetime XF lever-filler to do my daily writing with, because I'm hoping to run it out of ink. Too many pens inked right now, so want to get through some of them. This Sheaffer has a thin, thin line and must just be barely sipping ink. Not sure how much the sac holds, either.

The two new pens Fine are wider than the vintage ones.

The "51" is there because I used it for something today, and it was in my pocket with the Sheaffer. And because I like it. :)

I decided to my make own garish desktop background. I've cropped and resized the two differently colored parts to my lappy's screen size for two desktop background images.

I don't know if D-M-E still exists; I still have some of this pad of small graph paper from when I was a teenager (1980's)

I used Sheaffer Turquoise, Hero Blue Black, Sheaffer Green, Noodler's Dragon's Napalm, and antique Sheaffer's Skrip Purple+Red (1:1) in the pens below in order. I should have used Rome Burninating instead of Purple+Red. Doh! have extended it down the rest of the sheet and used Rome Burning instead of the Purple+Red, so Recife Crystal with Rome Burninating not shown in this photo of the pens.

Hi, there, and welcome to the forum.

This isn't really the right topic in which to place that question. A few suggestions for how to get the information you're looking for:

1. Search the reviews section to read what others think of the Carene.

2. Look in the Waterman forum for various threads that discuss the Carene.

3. If you post your question in either the general forum or the Waterman forum -- both good places to do so -- be as clear as you can be about what you're hoping for from the pen. What would make it "the right pen for you"?

All the best,

MrCharlie: That design is stunning!

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.
