Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

Hi Amber,

you inspired me once again with your octopus picture.

Wasn´t there also a discussion about red inks?

My favorite Red is Diamine Red Dragon.

Ptero: You continue to out do yourself! Your octopus is great, and your talent inspirational to me. Thank you.

Tas: How about adding a photo of your card to the existing reviews for the inks? Or, create a new review thread for each ink. That's what I'm planning on doing after I get my cards done. I want to highlight shading and sheen, as well as wash and blending.

Amberlea: Maybe the FPN store can add that ink poster to it's lineup of items for sale.

Uncle Red. I just saw this on one of the back pages of my journal. See the date? That's the time span between when I was here last and now. I'm truly ashamed

Tas, I love love love your ink cards. Please tell us more about them - paper, outline ink, how you keep them arranged, ...

Kalem, love your Wahl pen! I recently got a bottle of Akkerman #28 and really like it. Here is a pic, both pens using the same ink:

Awww, David that "Nox" pen is just INCREDIBLY stylish and the way it makes the Akkerman's No 10 behave is jaw droppingly gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

The ink cards are from a UK store:

and ALL CREDIT must go to fellow FPN member migo984 as it was her original idea . . .

I'm planning (thanks to Amberleadavis's recommendation) on photographing them all and uploading them as individual reviews as a small thank you to everyone who has ever helped or enabled me in a choice of ink.

I intend to shoot them all on a grey card and colour correct them so they are as accurate representation as I'm able to manage.

The bottle and rectangle show how the inks behave under a gentle waster wash - how I mainly use them.

The writing and squiggles at the bottom are done with the actual ink to show real world colour on paper.

I've included a plain cotton bud swab.

Lastly in the bottom right corner is a dab of ink onto wet paper - the plan was to show the chromatics but it hasn't really worked out as well as I'd hoped but has given me a small insight perhaps as to which inks tend to feather more than others.

See, that's brilliant!

The only additional suggestion I have is to take you digital images and sort them into directories for a website. So when someone says ...what green ink..... you can easily grab the images and post them.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I'm so looking forward to doing my ink cards! I'm going to put them in as a new review for each color. I use those reviews all the time, and this additional type of use for the inks will be useful to others, I'm sure. Maybe you can add your fade test results, too, Amberlea.

Tas, you are aware that your cards are mini works of art, don't you? Have you ever done any fade tests to see what happens to your inky art after it's been exposed to light for a few months? Something to think about.

Edited to add: David, the cards are sold by Jetpens - $4.95 for 100.

I'll stop blathering and post.

Never thought of the fading issue. That'd narrow down what I use even more and I'd have to sample and buy a whole load of other inks. I fear it'd snd me over the edge. Besides, I need to do some actual work every now and then . . . :)

Do you employ a full-time pen cleaner and re-inker?
