Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I haven't inked this Monteverde Crystal Demonstrator for years, so today I fired it up with a couple of the green international cartridges that came with it. Writes like a hot fudge sundae.

Amberlea:

What is the purpose of those side notches on the big bad boy nib, just to make it look big and bad?

I think it's to give it more flex.

Oooo.... what kind of red do you want?

Something not too dark, but elegant red. Kind of like the blood of my enemy, you know? :)

Hi Folks,

I realize my analog post below may not endear me to anyone here, but.. well, it is what it is. The important this is that I've rediscovered my fountain pens and my passion for said instruments of expression. Oh the Esterbrook with the very fine nib was way too scratchy and I never used it. Just recently I ordered R. Binder's student nib smoothing kit and I was able to smooth that nail right out. It is a pleasure to write with now. -----Craig

Yes. I have been known to call women "Mr Melissa" or whatever. Not so much lately, but it was a stupid affected habit for quite a while.

p.s. Also even cats and dogs.

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.
