The bread looks great... and so does your coffee pot! We inherited an aluminum version of it from my DH's grandmother. :)

I suck at drawing, but you kind of inspired me, so I gave it a go anyway :)

"Hema" store brand fountain pen w. Hero 232 blue-black

Hero 382 w. Rohrer & Klingner Blu Mare

I work with high end cars, and guess what brand of music players and phones I have the most problems with? Apple's rabid software 'upgrading' without concern for compatibility with other products makes my life unnecessarily difficult!

I have an iphone, but I won't be replacing it with another...

This evening I tried again something (for me) new.

I bought a box chalk-pastel pencils as I liked the charcoal pencil and thought the handling might be similar.....and indeed they feel similar.... I like them :) .

First scribbling with the new chalk-pastel pencils.

Today, I'm packing this pair: a new Pelikan M215 Rings with a Fine steel nib, and an old Parker Sterling Sonnet with a Medium 18K gold nib. The Pelikan is filled with Waterman Havane brown ink, and the Parker with Aurora Blue ink. Also, I really like this Fabriano paper. It's 85 g/m2 and toothier than Clairefontaine, which I like, and also about half the price.

Did a nib swap between my 78g and my Metropolitan today and WOW.......this is a pen that performs so far beyond its price point. $15 for the Metro and $10 for the 78g gives you two very solid pens, although the 78g is too light for me.

I was at an antique shop today and found this languishing in a cabinet behind a sharpening stone. Sheaffer made these Connaisseurs around 1989. They are a lacquered pen, and this one came with an 18K Fine nib, an original Sheaffer cartridge converter, and an almost full box of black ink cartridges. I'm carrying it around now, and it writes very well.

That's a handsome pen! Mind if I ask how much it went for? Seems like FPs at antique stores are either way over or way under market price.

I had to pick it up without being able to do much research. Turns out it was under current market price, fortunately. It didn't look like it had ever been inked. After a lot of hemming and hawing, and inspecting the nib and grumbling and clucking my tongue, they came down $50 on the asking price. That's a lot in today's antique shop world.

I did the same, sort of. I put a Pilot Plumix nib in there and I have to agree , it performs far beyond its price point. Makes me want to invest in a more high-end Pilot.

But seeing that I've already got a TWSBI Vac 700 and a Pelikan M200 on the way, it might be best to wait for a while
