Dr Codfish, Welcome. That binde is really something. Is it made with shell?

 

Injesticate, That looks like Fabriano. They make some nice stuff. Check the Arts and Crafts store and look at the calligraphy supplies again. Calligraphy FP's are common in these stores and check the ink carefully. I found Pelikan Font India in one by me. Check out the University's book store. I see they carry Southworth papers.

Binde A German word (pronounced BIN-duh, plural Binden) meaning bandage, used to denote the (usually colored celluloid) wrapper fitted around the barrel of a vintage Pelikan or similar pen. The Pelikan 100 shown here has a marbled green Binde.

The grip section feels comfortable to me; I haven't noticed any issues there. I do find the pen itself a bit weighty...too heavy to post, though it may feel different to a man (?). The nib is ultra smooth. You'll want good paper with enough weight, because it's really too smooth for regular paper (does that make any sense?). It's one of my favorite pens, though on the low end, price wise. I hope you enjoy yours!

Now I really can't wait for it to arrive!! Hopefully I'll be as lucky with the nib as you have been, and I won't mind a bit of heft. I doubt it's heavier than my Laban Germana. Thanks for your reply :)

 

I always have my TWSBI Mini in a pocket, regardless of whatever else I might carry.

My TWSBI Mini (EF) always goes everywhere with me too, it's perfect for jotting down notes in a small notebook. I've also got the all black version which I really like. Only very rarely do I wish there were a mini ink window to tell how much ink I've got left, but I generally manage fine without.

Actually, it's Casein, I believe it is old stock. Here are pics of the other side without the flashy highlights, and as you can see in different light it looks completely different.

On my last day at Mumbai before joining my ship, I could buy these three vintage Parkers for INR 6000, about $ 100.

Yet to start putting them on regular use, I have these tested. Very well preserved pen and I am happy to post them here.

A Parker 65, A parker Vaccumatic and a Parker 51. Can you please tell the approximate year these models were produced?

How do Sailors compare to Nakayas, if you don't mind me asking? Are the nibs similar in equivalent sizes?
