Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

I didn't mention it, but the paper is an 80 gsm Rhodia notebook.

As my first attempt to use a charcoal pencil was better than expected I thought why not try this time a portrait.

This is the first time ever I tried to draw a portrait, it was again better than I expected it.

I already can say that I really like this charcoal pencil.

Time effort was about 3-4 hours,

I hope she is recognizable.

Guess who?

I just ordered a Duke 929 yesterday and can't wait for it to arrive! Madden, is the grip section awkward to write with, and how's the nib?

Ptero:

I look forward to what comes from your drawing desk! Mrs. Pitt does not disappoint. I really like your cartoon characters, though, especially 'Noopy on his rocketpen. When my niece was little, that's how she said his name. Snoopy rocks and so do your drawings!

Snoopy statue near my favorite candy store in Saint Paul, where Charles Shultz grew up and drew his first Peanuts characters.

The grip section feels comfortable to me; I haven't noticed any issues there. I do find the pen itself a bit weighty...too heavy to post, though it may feel different to a man (?). The nib is ultra smooth. You'll want good paper with enough weight, because it's really too smooth for regular paper (does that make any sense?). It's one of my favorite pens, though on the low end, price wise. I hope you enjoy yours!

I always have my TWSBI Mini in a pocket, regardless of whatever else I might carry.

Careful with that Ancient Copper in such a gorgeous pen. The air can dry it out quite quickly and it makes gooey cruddy stuff that can block it up. Just be sure to flush regularly and don't leave it capless for long.

Regards,
Joe
