the close-up does the ink a little more justice:

Wouldn't it be great if Nakaya used TWSBI piston fillers instead of Platinum cartridge converters?

Paul - I love that pen and ink. Kobe #37 is a favorite of mine, though I added it to my mix for my current favorite blue (see Inky to the left).

Uncle Red: The 512 is one of my favorite every day pens and has a lovely 2A flexible nib It always carries a green ink of some sort.

Thank you. I have three of the Al Stars and all three have had to go back to Lamy for repair. That makes me not a very happy camper. I do however, love how they look and write.

What kind of trouble were you having with the Lamy Al Stars?

Well, these are the worst pictures (so I'm only attaching one) ...sorry... the nibs would look like they were coming loose and wouldn't stay on the pen. Well, that was because the way the feed unit is designed it has a smaller area that is prone to breaking.

Amberlea:

Wow, that looks bad. I'm gonna have to dredge up my Al-Star and check the nib and section fit.

There is no known cure. Now, you need to think about expanding beyond black ink and enter the colorful world of ink in bottles!

Hello to all FPN members,

I have been watching the forum for a long time and today it is my first post here. I really like this Pilot Capless Decimo pen, the tiny nib pops out with a click and it always finds a place in my rotation. I have used some lower end Pelikans, a TWSBI Diamond 540, a MB 144, a MB 146 and some other German make modern fountains pens like Lamy, Rotring etc. however this is my favorite. I mainly use a MB 164 and an Omas Ogiva BP for jotting but this is the one I use for signing office documents. Diamine Majestic Blue is currently my favorite ink.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
