This isn't penmanship by the way, this is just my quick (and slightly less quick) writing, so no judging!!!

Ooooohhh! I think I may need a lawyer (Amberlea?). Aaaah! Today I woke up to almost springlike conditions here in New York. As you all know, the winter this year has been awful. That is the good news. The bad news is that this is what I found. Ooooooh!

Those are my pens. That is my ink and that is my ink-stained hand (but I do not remember how the ink got there). I do not know who that snow man is. I have never seen him in my life. (Thank God it is not Bozo).

I woke up to see spring-like weather and, to my horror eight fountain pens in a snowman. The pens are from left to right: Bexley Americana with Diamine Syrah, Sheaffer Connoiseur (the Levenger version, I think with Diamine Apple Green, Newton Pens Tiger Stripes with Diamine Peach Haze, Mabie Todd Astoria Yellow Striped with Akkerman Parpoop Purpur 15, Brown Esterbrook J with Stipula Musk, Franklin-Christoph Intrinsic 02 with Noodler's Rattler Red, Waterman Onyx Lady Patricia with Diamine Ochre, and a Parker Lady Duofold with Iroshisuku Tsuki-yo.

Woe is me, woe is me.....

Those poor pens, If they need to travel to get over it, let me know...

A trip to the 'Silver State' can often be very relaxing...

(Sorry, my scanner doesn't work right now, so I can only take photos.)

I have only written a few sentences, but already my writing started to deteriorate in the last paragraph, because of how much pressue I need to apply. :(

So, anyway, you already gave me the lemmings. I saw this gorgeous Sheaffer Triumph nib on here - I think it was even this thread - and have since bought a Valiant Touchdown from 1950. LOVE the nib. I am currently waiting for a TWSBI Vac and for my next purchase I will get a pen from Pendelton Brown (F, no flex), just have to decide which pen yet.

Oh, yeah, I live in (West-)Berlin, Germany, in the Rheingauviertel, which is part of Wilmersdorf. I'm a silesian german and was born there, we moved to Berlin in 1983, when I was nine.

I have written with fountain pens since elementary school and always owned at least one, I also own dip pens since high school. In elementary school I had a red Schneider(?) Schulfüller and in high school a light lilac piston demonstrator. Since I wasn't aware of nib sizes yet, I wrote upside down basically all through school until I had to get a new pen and ended up with Lamy. Both my early pens I wrote with until I was unable to use them anymore. The Schulfüller had a grip section that had a rubber sheath, but over the years it wore out and slipped off and you couldn't write comfortably without it. The demonstrator got a split in the ink section. Eventually I threw them out.

The Duke D2-2 with M nib (the other nib is a fude):

Keeping with the Platinum theme, I took some time on Wednesday to sketch this gorgeous tree now in blossom.

I drive past it most days. It shimmers on a typical North London suburban street full of roadworks, temporary traffic lights, traffic cones, skips and general yukkiness.

(I'm popping round to the house later this afternoon with a copy of my sketch to give to the owners - by way of thanks for keeping such loveliness for all to see)

Pen: Platinum - no idea of make or nib size (a fellow FPN member suggested it might be a Maestro but I think the nib is way to small)

Ink: Rohrer & Klingner Leipziger Schwarz.

Paper: Stillman & Birn Epsillon.

Very nice painting and pen, where did you get it at least, to start the search?

Today i am using my glass dip pen with glass nib, it writes smoothly without a hint of scratchyness.

Today, on my plate is my freshly re-inked Pilot Justus 95 with the nib strut set to the flexier end of the adjustment. Ink: Iroshizuku Yu-Yake Pay-a-Lotte:

Sorry for the bit blurry pics... still working on the camera skills...

If you think everything is going well... you obviously have no idea what is really going on!

Uncle Red:

The Pilot Justus 95 is a fun pen. I started using it with some Iroshizuku Yu-Yake in an empty Pilot ink cartridge. Worked great. Then I popped in a lavender Pilot ink cartridge I picked up at the LA Pen Show. Also worked great. When the lavender cartridge ran out, I filled it with some Aurora Blue, but that wrote a little dry and railroad tracked somewhat when using the flex feature of the pen. Cranking the strut closer to the Justus nib helped, but it wasn't perfect. I went back to the Yu-Yake, and now it's perfect again.
