I keep this one near at hand all the time for when I want a little "blast from the past". It is filled with Yard-O-Led Sepia ink.

And bonus volcano from this weekend

That is the first "bonus volcano" pic I've ever seen! Makes me feel like a weenie for complaining about a little snow. :)

Jsolares - WOW now that is a sight to see.... is that a common occurrence where you live?

Uncle Red - Nice pen, do you write with your Inkograph much?

I really like the look of that Duke Porcelain. What is it like to use? I've seen some on eBay and due to the relatively low price I'm very tempted to add one to my collection.

It is a lovely pen that writes well. The nib 'sings' when you use it; some find it distracting, some endearing. Only slight complaint is that it has a tendency to dry out over night - the cap doesn't seal that well. But that is probably just mine (tolerances being somewhat loose on these pens) and it is fixable or you can just dip it in the ink bottle in the morning to get it started.

A good pen for $20 or whatever is the going rate, and a really pretty one.

There's one town "down" here that's gotten snow, it's like at 10,000 feet (3000 or so meters) above sea level, and it's only happened i think twice in 20yrs, not sure which i'd prefer.

We have 3 active volcanoes in the country, two which are visible from most of the capital city, the one in the picture is the pacaya almost always active but mostly just spews lava, the last major ash eruption was in 2010 and it shutdown the international airport, it lasted a lot longer than this one, so not that common but not entirely unexpected.

Keeping with the Platinum theme, I took some time on Wednesday to sketch this gorgeous tree now in blossom.

I drive past it most days. It shimmers on a typical North London suburban street full of roadworks, temporary traffic lights, traffic cones, skips and general yukkiness.

(I'm popping round to the house later this afternoon with a copy of my sketch to give to the owners - by way of thanks for keeping such loveliness for all to see)

Pen: Platinum - no idea of make or nib size (a fellow FPN member suggested it might be a Maestro but I think the nib is way to small)
Ink: Rohrer & Klingner Leipziger Schwarz.
Paper: Stillman & Birn Epsillon.

I'm not tremendously up to date with this era's various models, but I've not seen a Lady model with a threaded cap yet. The cap definitely looks like the Leader, but the body is definitely the shorter Lady version.

And I always associate "Lady Garland' with a short Taperite with a GF cap. That's the way it is in the '47 catalog, the other short model has a different name

Nice pens and thanks for sharing the volcano picture.

It's a lady model but the threaded cap on a USA pen is weird.

It's not weird for me... Maybe I'm a outsider?

I like sepia inks. Remember da Vinces notebooks handwriting.

Here's my Woot!.com fountain pen - a Lalex with a faux gold overlay. Italian piston filler with a fairly dark view window and fine, two tone "inlaid" nib with a hint of flex. Inked with MB Winterglow. How could I go wrong for $23 shipped?

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

First entry here.. Just trying a new to me supposedly-EF-but-more-of-a-M Pelikan 120. Pelikan brilliant black.
