ROFL - I love the dragon and the comments.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't all Italian snowmen wear bibs when eating spagetti?

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

I've been waiting to post all these up.

So, I went to a stationery store the other day - or maybe that was a stationary store. I mean, the store wasn't moving or anything.....

Not writing with any of them, but I took inventory of my spare gold nibs.

And today I'm writing with these two sexy things I just restored: both Watermans—a 52V in "Ripple BluGreen" on the left, and a re-blackened (*GASP!*) Waterman 14. :puddle: :puddle: :puddle:

Missed a few spots on the 14. I coated the new finish with Renaissance wax, so I'll strip it and re-dye later. I used the Pensbury Manor Pen Potion No. 9.

Did you re-blackened it by yourself?

If yes how did you do it?

Pensbury Manor Pen Potion No. 9, q-tips, and patience. :) I did polish it lightly with Simichrome, and washed the surface thoroughly with very cold water and mild detergent. I know the idea of throwing a 90+ year old hard rubber pen under a running faucet is unthinkable, but because I was dying it I threw caution to the wind (didn't fade it a bit anyway).

Here's what it looked like before:

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/812/p8ms.jpg

Here's another angle of it now. I lightly rubbed it after the second (and final) coat of dye, and I think that might've taken a bit too much off the cap's rim. Or I didn't get good coverage.

The BluGreen 52V also received quite the Simichrome polish. The blue had faded and the green had faded to a nasty yellow. The imprints were pretty faded to begin with, but I did exercise caution around them. But all the smooth surfaces got a spitshine with that polish.

And after polishing, cleaning, and a thin coat of Renaissance wax:

I'm not sure if the pictures convey it, but the difference in person is enormous.
