I can't draw a picture to save my life, but I do have a pen I can show. Here is a pic of a Sheaffer Triumph pen I restored last week and have been using since almost non-stop. When I wrote with it I couldn't believe it had such a flexible nib. In my experience the terms "Sheaffer's conical nib" and "flexible" are about as close to a pure oxymoron as one can get, and yet take a look - this nib flexes! Using Noodler's Black ink.

You people do awesome things with your handwriting!! Thanks for the nice words, your pens are fabulous, as well!

About my "unknown pen"... searching on local, second hand online portals for a f.p. case, I came across a 24 f.p. collection in a nice 3 shelf expositor. Found 3 or 4 collections for sale, at or about $400 each. It was a limited run of f. pens, imitating famous pens of all time, made by Vaccaro. It couldn't be bought at stores, had to be purchased at press kiosks as they were released, or purchased as a whole by phone order ("catalog sales", I guess).

The one I bought at the local antique store for $12 turns out to be f.p. #5 in the collection, described as "1930's f.p. with elegant design and gold filled trim".

According to many collectors here in Spain, it's a very good looking collection, but of rather cheap quality, very much like the Jinhao or Baoer brands.

Oh, well... at least I found out what it is and I love the way it writes!

@dcpritch: Fantastic pic as always.

Great pen and beautiful handwriting. Inspiring as always.

I have a Sheaffer Statesman with a thinner-bodied conical nib.

It´s smooth as butter, but a nail nonetheless. Not even a hint of Flex.

Keep up the good Work !!

Pen: Packard Bell laptop

Ink: Index fingers

Ha! How funny.
Look how gorgeous dcpritch makes his Sheaffer and ink combo look.

I've just posted this nightmare to the "What Colour Are Your Fingers Today?" thread with my Sheaffer Touchdown and Monteverde Blue Black ink duet

You loon. Love it!

As If I'd do such a thing . . . :ninja:

He-heh..... good one Tas.

Great pen BTW. Is that a factory stub, or was it customized?

Like many of my pens it was a cheapo from ebay that didn't quite work. I showed some micromesh to the nib, gave it a thorough cleaning and all became good again, well, until today.

Just found a big lump of gloop in the feed and underneath the nib. All clean now and looking forward to a sketch this evening.

I love Sheaffer's but have yet to find a flexible one like dcpritch's. Mine are all nails and I love them for it.

I think a rightful punishment for your kidnapping of Inky would be to participate in our picture story.

I know that you are more than qualified, and we already saw too long no sketch/drawing from you. :)

A sketch Pterodactylus but not part of the story . . . yet.

One of my six Sheaffers. This is my Touchdown.

It prefers to write rather than sketch as it's nib is quite crisp.

The ink Is Monteverde Blue Black. A somehow forgotten but much loved ink from the back of my drawer.

Welcome Mineralogy.
I overcame my "shyness" a few months ago. Not been able to stop participating since; I'm sure you'll be the same.

Your writing is gorgeously fluid and really easy to read. No need for any kind of apology :) it's waayy better than mine.

Nice work SB! As far as I'm concerned, loving the way a pen writes is way more important than the price. And if it looks good too it's an added bonus B)
