Wow, the great pens and art keep coming! I love it. Pertodactylus and Amberleadavis, I can't wait to see what comes next in the art battle. Tangster, Carretera18, Irrigger and Comptine, thanks for posting your great pens.

A quick survey for you all below. I am curious if I am losing it.

There are never enough pens inked up. Sometimes there are too many inked with the same color ink as in my case. I could switch the colors up.

Wow Tas...I thought my 10 was too many. How do you keep 44 pens from drying up?

I'm a photographer by trade but sketch and make notes all throughout the day as I'm often sat in front of a Mac retouching or researching.

Through trail and error, mostly error, I've found out which ink behaves well in which pen and also which pen refuses to behave - they are sent to live in the draw of shame.

I can honestly say that out of the 44  only a handful fail to start first time and NONE fail to start after a little scribble or lick.

(although I've vowed not to lick after an incredibly bitter experience with ESS Registrars Ink in one of my pens)

This is my first time posting in this thread, mostly because I don't usually write anything more interesting than to do lists... But I've been wanting to make more of an effort to practice my penmanship and learn Sutterlin, so here's a bit I was working on this morning:

Not great, but I'm not too ashamed to share it either. :-) Pen is (obviously) a neon Lamy Safari with a 1.1 steel nib, ink is Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-ryoku. My mother gave me the ink for Christmas and it is wonderful. I shall certainly have to splurge on another bottle once I get the chance...

PS - if anyone can offer me constructive feedback on the Sutterlin, I would most gladly accept it. :-)

Hello all, I pulled a few pens from the pile (below). I didn't have time to write responses to everybody, so:

Tringle - you have some great pens in the 7 you have inked now.

Sangreiarenas - your handwriting looks good to me. Good work getting results from that Falcon and Waterman.

Yogalava - I had to look up Sutterlin on wikipedia. Now that I have, I can see your practice is paying off. Looks good to these (untrained) eyes.

The Blaze orange post is my "slow" handwriting, the other three are closer to full speed. My "slow" practice is finally starting to yield improvement in my normal writing. It has taken a while though.

Eeyvind, rest assured we're not alone.

Those Konrads of yours are stunning. What glorious patterns - I was an early adopter and have a red swirly one, meh, with a plain red cap and blind cap ; (

Visually matching the ink to the pen is so important. I try to too but with so many black pens I often have to listen to their little voices.

Ahaha! I feel better about only having 7 inked pens right now. That said, that's out of a total of 11 pens...

Eeyvind, those Konrads look fantastic. It's just so darn awkward to get hold of them in the UK.

Yogalarva, that script looks very nice. It's difficult for me to read, but that's more to do with unfamiliarity.

sangreiarenas, the falcon always has a place in my pen case. :) Lovely pen.

tringle. The Mabie Todd was quite the bargain! I think it must've been originally a ladies purse pen given it's extremely small size (just under 5" capped and around 4.5" unposted). That set of inked pens is very impressive. Some big names in there, I'm very jealous.

I believe it's this one. The FPR pens are very good value for money.

Thank you! I did try them. They are definitely not made for a desert environment, but I suspect that any place other than a place with almost no humidity would be better for fountain pens. :).

For you, Tringle. I love the idea and the bird too.

BTW, other than the focus problems, does it make a difference if the images are scanned?
