This nib is SO UGLY. The tines are bent in this totally strange way. But it is super smooth when you use it as an oblique is supposed to be used.

But still, those are some great pens, nibs and ink. Please tell us about your mixing "accident", it looks like you've stumbled upon something there.

 

It was difficult to take photos today using natural lighting due to the snowstorm raging outside - all my pics have a slight blue tint.

Here's a pen I've been meaning to restore for a very long time, now I can't believe I waited so long to do it.

Hello Again Fountain Pen Network!!

 

Today I picked up my new Sailor Precious Woods Ebony fountain pen with a fine nib from the post office this morning. I must admit, the fine nib is much too fine for my liking, so I'm going to try and exchange it soon. The pen is also smaller than I expected. I have to use it posted! I must admit, most of the photos I have seen of this pen do not do it justice.

 

This ink is JustWrite's Toucan Sienna Ink. It has some wonderful shading, though not too obvious with this nib.

 

My hand writing has not improved much since last time I was here ... sorry!

At first glance I thought that was rifles, not refills... Bolt action threw me, I guess... But the pen doesn't go bang...

Nothing particularly pretty today. Instead I have been experimenting with various frankenpens. This one is the TWSBI Diamond 580 with the Franklin-Christoph #5 medium italic steel nib. (Yes, I’m a sucker for punishment. Yes, I had to adjust the nib to get a reasonable flow; as shipped, the tines were touching and it would not write without pressure. But that is easily fixed. Still need a little adjustment but almost there now after just 15 minutes tinkering. Will get the #5 broad stub next.)
