I thought I'd share a small silly thing I did while I was bored one afternoon.

I know, some of you better calligraphists will cringe, but I'm still learning and practicing. :P

Forgot to write that I admire everyone's inspirational posts so far. Obviously too many to mention individually by now.

An Arnold Lever Filler

Sorry for the poor pictures and shoddy handwriting. I have long been drooling over the beautiful pictures and excellent writing of all of you people!

The handwriting of many regulars here is so far above my own level that I don't even bother to be embarrassed any more. :)

I got a bottle of Rohrer & Klinger Salix today and I love it!

I'm using it in my Parker Sonnet now and it's a dream- I hope it continues to write this well because it will be my new favorite ink if it does.

My pens: Two Parker 45s, a Parker Jotter, a Pilot Custom 74 smoke demonstrator, a Lamy Studio, a Parker Sonnet Ciselé, and a Duofold International Citrine

This is my first and currently only pen.

I would have handwritten a message like many of you, except I feel kind of self-conscious posting such a horrific handwriting next to such well written writings. I would LOVE to be able to write as half as well as some of you guys.

I received three pens from Bryant this week, so was doing some doodling. I've just discovered these Rhodia Reverse Books and figure I'll start from the back and work forward with random geometrics on one side of each sheet, then do my notes and journal on the other side starting from the front. I really like the 8.25" square shape, but wish it was 4x4 grid to mirror college rule line heights rather than the 5x5 it is. My print is small and all my nibs are XF, but these lines are pretty darn narrow.

Visconti HomoSapiens bronze with PR Midnight Blues. My least attractive pen and my most comfortable. Steering wheels should be made of this lava composite. PRMB is my favorite blue-black.

Omas Saffron Blue with Diamine Denim. The current Paragon is too big for my hand, but the Milord and this old style Paragon fit me well. Of the celluloids, this and the burlwood are my favorite. I was fortunate that Bryant had one of these with an XF nib. I was expecting more contrast between the Midnight Blues and the Denim based on swabs I've seen online, but it's not as pronounced on the page (maybe it's the fine line that limits the contrast?)

ConwayStewart Celebration Raleigh with Noodler's Lexington Gray. I like the stepped finials and thin gold bands, but especially the engraved pattern and the resulting texture and tactile feel. The Lex seems to have a bit of an olive green to it. I also picked up some Diamine Gray so will try something with just those two. I wouldn't expect much shading with XF, but it's there with this, but not with either blue.
