Hi All,

I just wanted to give you a quick view of my desk today.

I brought along several friends which you may recognize.

MonteVerde Invincia Stylus (1.1mm Stub italic)

Mont Blanc 144 (Fine)

Mabie and Todd Swan 1060 Leverless (Not really sure but sooooo nice)

Pelikan M200 Demonstrator (M Italic)

Pelikan 140 (OF super flexible)

And of course my fish tank with lots of happy snails.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Sorry for my horrible handwriting, I'm slowly improving it.. (some FP's are the first step...)

Here's a translation if anyone is having trouble:

Why hello there! Fountain pen Network Newbie here!

Please excuse my handwriting, it's not the best or straightest, hopefully with time this will greatly improve...

I am writing this with a Jinhao X450. I find the nib quite smooth. The pen also looks great, especially for the $6 I paid for it!

The ink is Parker Blue (Quink). I'm much preferring it over the Black I was using from Parker.

Your handwriting is so beautiful Pterodactylus! (jealous!)

-- Steven

Today morning, I gravitate toward the saffron / orange ink and an old broad nibbed MB 144 who is ever so generous in splurging ink on paper best suitable for lighter inks to be more assertive.

Sorry, I often falter while posting images. Here we go : the grand oldie MB 144 spreading the saffron splendor for universal peace and tranquility :)

@Nashten - I may have a 52 nib, I will let you know.

OOO, I really like your desk pad. Where did you find it?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Here's the crack beauty shot. The crack (actually a chip) doesn't affect the function of the pen because it's a lever filler. It was silly of me to try to wash out the years of ink that accumulated around the threads without soaking over night--I didn't realize the celluloid would be so brittle. As I was wiping the threads with a paper towel, pieces started to break off. Lesson learned...the hard way... sigh. But the pen is lovely!

Ooh! also, I converted it to an eyedropper. It works well, but I have the strangest feeling I'm going to forget and ink is going to end up all over the place.. :(
