I meant, #2 #4 etc. I know they didn't mark the point in the old days and it drives me nuts sometimes. Waterman has 3 different stubs in the old catalogs but only shows you a picture of one and doesn't describe any of them. :gaah:

Ah! My apologies for misunderstanding. Still no answer for you, though, as the only thing visible on the nib is:

Conklin

TOLEDO

U.S.A.

If there is a nib size printed on it, it must be under the section. (I didn't restore this pen, so I never saw the nib removed.) If I had to guess, though, I'd guess it's a No. 2 nib, as it's one of the smaller Conklins -- under five inches. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

(TWSBI Mini - 1.5 CI ..... Noodler´s Navy)

Giggle.

Nah, it was an experiment about getting the stains out. Those purple stains were caused by purple inks (none of which were Noodler's or Private Reserve). The water flush before the Diamine Crimson was completely clear, I'd done a sonic cleaning, used a pen flush and shook it up with diluted ammonia... but alas, Diamine Crimson came out looking like Diamine Oxblood. (A lovely color, but still with purple). I had used red inks to clean stains in the past, and I've been tracking my results. This picture should show you more about the stains. (PS the stains were much darker before using Diamine Crimson).

I got rear ended by a teenager today (everyone's fine), so I decided to restore a Waterman I'd been holding back for sometime special. Fixing up pens is such a zen experience.

It's got an awesome stub.

Lobe: I bought my first Franklin-Christoph and my second at the same time: a Model 66 and a Model 19. While they are very different pens, I love them both. They inspire joy in the hand, and sing onto the page with the sweet breath of angels' voices. They feel good, look great, and write superbly. I could stand it if they were a touch wetter, but that's a (fixable) matter of taste. Some of their models are particularly good value, in my opinion.

:) They are so pretty  - had to get one while there are stocks. Love your handwriting - is that nib customized or from the factory?

I am no longer very active on FPN but feel free to message me. Or send me a postal letter!

Thanks! As far as I know it's factory. It's an older West Germany model and I got it from fleabay from a person who was actually selling it as an M600. It wasn't until I got it in the mail that I started to think "this is heavier and bigger than it should be…".

Kind of like the time I though I was getting a woodgrain Waterman 52 and it turned out to be a 55. :yikes:

I'm fixing up some pens for a wife's friend and just finished getting what I'm convinced was dried India ink out of a Pelikan M200. I compared it to my M405.

Okay, I have to concede the point that not all inks are suitable for Stone Paper.

and after. This was a day after I posted it originally and it looks like the ink just slowly spread and spread and spread then spread some more. Not pointing fingers but this is the first time I used Noodler's ink with this "paper". Never had an issue with any other ink. I have used Private Reserve, Organic Studios, Montblanc, Diamine and Waterman inks with this stuff.

Wow, there's no way that getting rear ended by a teenager sounds good.

Glad you are okay.

You should do a paper review and show those results.
