:D @ Cyber6 - Its not the size of your nib its how well you use it?

If you are asking... it means you are not sure about it. ;)

But as you saw on my awful scribbling with the brush pen, size alone is nothing without the right technique.

So I guess a combination of size, knowledge and technique is needed. :bunny01:

Just found out the wiseman was quoting Robin Williams....

carlosviet, lovely writing on HUGE paper! I've written letters that ended up long, but I'm not sure I've ever intended to write a letter that would fill such a large sheet of paper.

It is not the biggest paper I use regularly... Not even close... This is a letter to my gf in a 1 meter wide hand made rice paper I bought in a village. Very difficult to write there. It had too many remains of grass which stopped the nib, but the paper was so absorbent that if you stopped one instant, it got really messy!! It feels like writing in sleeping cotton sheets. It certainly has the same texture... You must be very light in speed and pressure.

But it was fun! Now my girlfriend is asking to write a whole cotton cloth, and she would make a dress! :P

[HUGE PAPER]

:yikes: where's that village? Beautiful letter and writing, I can't even keep my lines straight on a lined piece of 8.5" x 11", much less a meter's worth of unlined paper!

Ha Giang, in the norther highlands. There was an artisan who did chinese-style caligraphy with brushes on these kind of paper. He also sold brushes, ink stones and stuff.

I can keep my lines straight without any problem, as long as I use the old writing position of the Palmer method with the paper angled. But the margins and line spaces require me a couple of seconds to decide where to put the nib to the paper. That's why I prefer, when possible, to write with the paper in landscape.

OOphoto - That is a great looking Waterman and your script work is fantastic. I also like the way the ancient copper appears still wet.

Stompie - I am glad the 6mm was a winner and not a weiner... :lticaptd:

Ah, thank you. :D If I ever find myself in the vicinity, I'll be passing by. My quest for meter-long paper begins!

I should get my hands on some blank paper and start practicing. Thank you; I'll keep positioning in mind. :)
