What a fun thread! Here are my current pen/ink combos.

I really like the writing with the Kaweco. It is much richer, really stands out on the page. I found this brand on eBay, I didn't find it in the nib you have. Is it smooth to write with?

btw ~ This is my first time to post here, I am really enjoying this site and love my pens and inks as well...

Thanks,

ThaJeweler

Well I guess I have to do some studying to figure out how to use this site. I find it very difficult compared to so many others I use. First it will not allow me to post my pictures, it wants a URL. So I take the time to upload each of them to Flicker and try again and now it does not like Flicker.

This seems to be a bit to complicated to simply enjoy... I will read some but don't want to have to learn new software just to share on a forum... Wow!!

Have you explored the More Reply Options? There should be the Choose File option, Upload and Add to Post buttons for pictures mid-way down. (I've been uploading photos since my first post. :) )

Like many post here I have read I hate my penmanship, I will begin working on it regularly now. I have really enjoyed reviewing all the pens and inks on this thread and still have many to read. It is better than many books I read. :)

Thanks Nashten for the tip on how to upload the pictures...

The quality built into S. T. Dupont pens is hard to match and I have written with none any smoother.

I inked up some different pens this morning. First, a Mabie Todd & Co. Swan Visofil 340/76 (Mark II), inked with OMAS Green - which is a little too blue for this pen, I think. Sorry about the multitude of Visofil pics - I just wanted to share with you all some of the cool details of this pen.

Next a 1920s Salz Bros. lever filler which I call the "Tuxedo" due to its styling:

The nib really isn't this ugly - its just the lighting.

And last, one of my favorite Eversharp Skylines:

... my next order to Akkerman

And how frequently do these orders occur? I mean, are we talking weekly, monthly ... ? Or are you related to the Akkermans and therefore price is no concern?! :)

Mabie Todd & Co. was justifiably proud of the Swan Visofil. They also (apparently) gave an employee free reign to stamp every possible surface of the pen with imprints. Here's the imprint count:

Swan insignia - cap top, clip and main barrel imprint

Swan name - nib, bottom of feed, horizontally near top of cap

Mabie Todd & Co. name - nib, main barrel imprint

Visofil Pen - main barrel imprint

Made in England - nib, main barrel imprint

Model No. - horizontally near bottom of barrel

I don't know, but I'm guessing the NASCAR folks got some of their advertising ideas from Mabie Todd:

OK, that shut me up. I have no idea what an appropriate response would be.
