Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using, *show* Us!

Playing with some recent arrivals - Noodler's Eternal inks, all... And had to use a couple of dip pens to go through them. First was with an Esterbrook Falcon nib, then with a glass dip pen (which, incidentally, seems to vary from fine through medium, maybe into broad, bearing in mind that I once found medium nibs to be frighteningly wide, depending upon the rotation of the nib)...

Thank you!

I Found a new friend this weekend. Yay!!!

Its a Conklin Crescent filler (Mark Twain)

Beautiful pen and writes so very nicely. Love at first write. I think i have probably gone through about 20 pages since last night and we are finally starting to get our groove together. Definitely one of most favorite pens of all time. looks great, writes great, and is a bit eclectic :)

I wish I could claim that they were all bottles, and not mostly samples! :-D But, they're definitely some fun ones in there... It's going to take some serious experimentation to find the pen that suits each color the best (and shows each color off to best advantage)... Oh darn... I have to play with pens and inks more...

 .... that is a lot of ink... a lot of very interesting ink I might add.

Not a blessed thing, Red... After grilling, however... I got adventurous and wrote a grocery list for making some cherry ice cream...

Zoniguana: I see you have some of the discontinued Swisher exclusives. I miss their Gulfstream Blue.

I'm also finding the FP ink flows really fast off the dip pens - as in, with most of them, I only get a couple or three words before I have to re-dip (with the falcon nib - the glass pen, it is better behaved). I understand most dip pen inks are a bit thicker, and the addition of a bit of gum arabic is needed if I want the FP ink to slow down a bit on them and behave better. Of course, I won't do that in the stock bottles... I'm curious, since I have the stuff, if agar agar could be similarly employed...

DC, nice pen. If your son is writing home from college and not asking for money then don't bother about the ink.

Zoniguana, I found the same thing with FP inks so I've been using dip pen inks. Some inks and pens get along better than others.

Well I've been 'teaching myself' (i.e., books, videos, IAMPETH web, etc.) Engrosser's (Copperplate) script for the past few weeks and I feel like I might be getting somewhere. At least I can see where I'll need more work, but man, this is fun!

Nice job Doc!

Strange... Didn't see my former till I posted this one, and I can't seem to delete it... Sorry for doubling up, but it is a nice start!

Hi All, I let my phone run out of power so no picture today.

They pinned the thread, I almost didn't see it.

Liamtyr, nice looking pens. BTW Fahrney's has a demo version of the Crescent for $200.00. It's listed with the special editions.

Nashten, Nice contrast between the pen and ink. Do you post that cap or is it too heavy?

Jazzdoc, that's really coming along great. I have trouble going back and forth with the different hands so I've stopped practicing for now.

Nice looking pen Irrigger, looks like the pattern spirals a bit?
