Cool pen and ink! And look at that flex! I love yellow and orange pens :-)

Still not home. The sad pen is an eagle pen, I think ;-)

I'm using a Newton Denim Micarta! It's a laaarrge pen, but surprisingly light for its size. It's made from a process in which denim is compressed in resin....one of Shawn Newton's wonders. I got it from an fpn'er at this week's Big Apple Pen Club meeting.

Yes, that is my 149 it's next to... And with cap off it's perfectly balanced, and the nib is a buttery smooth B.

So, for a guy who doesn't generally like modern pens, broad nibs, and or large pens (the 149 and Sheaffer OS excepted...), I sure am having fun with this puppy. It's filled (converter, which is really small in there...) with Akkerman Shocking Blue.
The moral of the story is "Never Miss a Meeting"...

DC, they didn't give you anything to take at home?

They did, but I don't do well with narcotics so I've been going without. On the other hand (pun), those first few hours - when I couldn't feel anything - were great!

++++++++++++

Tim, I've always wanted one of those Newton denim micarta pens. Glad to hear they handle as great as they look.

DCP -- and I don't have the world's largest hands, either...I will say that it is a little top-heavy when posted, but when I bolted my off-arm to the desk it was better. And the Shocking Blue seems somehow just right for it, too.

When I had my Gall Bladder out they gave me Vicoden to take at home. I used about half the bottle. I didn't want to overdo it either.

Some new additions to the flock of Eagles...

The brownish/goldish/greenish one has a fine steel nib that's a little scritchy - might need some smoothing, and it is a little hesitant, flow-wise, so, might need a good soak and bath (not unlike its human). Even so, it seems to behave quite nicely - some great spring in its step, and I look forward to seeing how it behaves when it is better tuned...

The red one is a gold nib, flex, and oh my goodness... um... right...

Then, there is this third Eagle... Rather non-descript, BHR bird with either the most bizarre nib ever, or tortuously abused...

Here's my new pen/pencil Ambassador combo. I've been on an Ambassador kick latelythis is my fifth. It's a gorgeous pen, definitely the nicest of the five. It has a 14k semiflex nib that's very smooth.

And Ambassador must've scored some leftover celluloid rod stock from Waterman, because it's nearly identical to the Onyx material my Lady Patricia is made of.
