Nice eagle, Pterodactylus! No wonder he is so proud :happyberet:

Here is a photo of one more sketch where you can also see my pen (BCHR Vintage Sheaffer from 1918) ...

I sadly have some problems with railroading when I use it. I'm thiking about buying a Pelikan artist's nib from Mr.Richard Binder.

Then again I am also very tempted to buy a modern Parker Duofold... but I can't seem to find any writing/drawing samples of any of them....

Does any of you have a modern Duofold? Or an artis's nib? I'd appreciate any advice....I want them both sooo bad

anyway here is the sketch....

Hi Lambretta88,

thanks for posting this wonderful picture, and the compliment for my humble eagle :)

I´m sorry to hear that you have problems with our Sheaffer.

Are you sure that the feed is not clogged?

Did you cleaned the feed/pen recently?

If it is not clogged and clean, did you already tried to use a different ink, sometimes a pen can behave totally different with different inks (especially a vintage one).

A wetter ink might solve the problem.

If this also don´t help you might consider to deepen the ink channel to solve the railroading problem.

It would be a pity if you don´t use such a wonderful pen anymore.

Hi Attila,

forgot to mention, I´ve compared my violet inks (Akkerman Voorhout Violet, Diamine Grape and Caran d´Ache Storm) in this:

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/237287-lesser-known-ink-brands/?p=2596445

thread. Might be interesting for you.

Additionally you could consider also Rohrer & Klingner Scabiosa.

From these inks I like Storm best followed by Scabiosa, but they are all very close to each other.

Of course this are not all options, but these are the 4 I own and know.

Good evening to all, attached is my newest acquisition which also -after several years of waffling- happened to be my grail pen. I should have a review up by the time my leave is done in a week's time.

Love your artwork lambretta88, count me as a fan. After you get your Pelikan Artist pen or Duofold you could get your Sheaffer BCHR feed adjusted. It would be a shame for a flexy vintage Sheaffer nib to go idle. :)

How can you tell when you're out of invisible ink?
