Oops, I forgot to mention the ink - De Atramentis Khaki, which I love with this pen. :)

Hi SJH,

The dot on the Parallel Pen nib indicates the side which Pilot intended to use when writing with the edge (fine line).

My personal experience is, that they write on both sides.

The Parallel Pen concept is a very special.

There are 2 steel sheets in parallel and the ink flows between the sheets down, so there is no conventional feed, they are italic nibs.

They use cartridges but you can also use a Pilot Con-70 converter.

They write really well (imho best for printing, gothic, or special calligraphic use cases) are inexpensive and are available in 1,5mm 2.4mm, 3.8mm and 6mm.

Really fun pens, I like them.

(Waterman 45 BCHR Safety ..... P.W. Akkerman Oranje Boven)

For those who are interested in this pen.

I´ve written a review of it some time ago.

You can find it at:

Waterman 45 BCHR Safety Review

BTW:

As you can see my scanner can´t capture the orange of the Oranje Boven ink correctly.

The Pictures are more accurate.

Thanks SJH, that nib is actually from another Safari with a broken section. I don‘t think that the yellow with black clip combo is available anymore. I also used to use sherwood forest, but PR Spearmint is a much happier shade of green, especially for this time of year! :-):-)

I am sad today. My Vac 700 broke, with normal use. The nib collar cracked, the section came loose and fell off, inked spilled, making a mess. I've heard that TWSBI pens crack, but never expected this would happen to me, as I am always very gentle with my pens. Oh well. It's still under warranty, so I will be sending it back for repair.

Pterodactylus: Thanks! Its an invention of my own, more or less. Though, I do love your handwriting and wish I could write neatly in cursive. I can only seem to write well using a variety of old Architect's lettering styles.
