Pteodactylus, that's a great looking Pelikan you have there, same for yours, akustyk.

Lamy, Lamy, Lamy, that's all I see these days! :D And how lovely they are. You guys really know how to brighten a day.

skysora, you missed group therapy last night? :o Do you need to tell us something?

I know its amazing when a vintage pen is in such good condition that it looks brand new, but there's something appealing about a 100 year old pen that looks, well, like its been around the block a couple times. Here's an example:

Oops, I forgot to mention the ink - De Atramentis Khaki, which I love with this pen. :)

Well, not strictly a pen... But there is a pen involved in the main process.

What you don't see is my top-secret handwritten and typed up pages. This was done in a between the pages thing. :)

Oh and heres my handwritten reminder page. Don't mind the crude messiness. Rest assured, a pen WAS involved!

Hi Uncle Red,

Setting an avatar picture is easy, just click on "My Profile" when you click on the profile page on the (currently not set) avatar picture a dialog pops up where you can upload a picture.

The new structure in your post is great, now even I can easily see which pen belongs to which text and identify the pen and ink. Thanks :)

The Wahl Bantam Salamander looks interesting, can you tell us something about this pen?

The Sheaffer Dolphin has I think no inlaid nib but it has the same style like the inlaid ones with this intarsia on the section.

Can't see it clearly on the picture.

They are from the 60s correct?

The hooded nib looks similar to the MB14, MB12 from the same period.

How do you like it?

BTW I love the design of the Sheaffer inlaid nibs.

Hi Akustyk,

Yes, I love the colors of the Ruby Red.

To be honest it's not my pen, I borrowed it from my wife.

It was a gift from me for her birthday last year, I wanted to buy something special and as red is her favorite color I bought this Ruby Red.

dc, yes, I was just looking at my pens...

fpn_1368736770__image.jpg

This is my timeline! I'm a bit scared by the number of pens I've acquired since attending my first pen show in January (I got my Waterman and Estie then). I'm at a point where I think I can justify getting a nice storage box for my pens, but I am confused as to why I feel that I rather buy another pen. And I used to want to buy other things, but now all I want are pens! So yes, I needed to attend that session!

akustyk and Pterodactylus, The urushi pen is my Edison/Hakumin Mina in aka-tamenuri. The maki-e says "Hakumin" (Ernest's signature). The pen is impossible to photograph. Imagine hot coal with a glow from within! It's actually not black but more brownish from the layer(s) of red lacquer underneath. (Or you can get an idea here: http://www.hakuminurushi.com/purchase/inventory.html) I love the feel of urushi. It was a big gift to myself for hitting a major milestone :)

(No affiliation--just a huge fan of the Edisons and Ernest Shin of Hakumin Urushi Kobo!)

Today, between baking cakes and preparing for feast, this little fellow came to me. I've had too little time to write with it, but I had to share it with you, cause I'm so glad I'm the owner of it, a tortoise Pelikan 400 OBB with a bit of flex. What a pen! :vbg:

(sorry about the photo, it doesn't do this beautiful pen honour)

This pen was my third FP in school, I got it about 30 years ago.

Unfortunately I don´t know the exact model.
